Also side note! From what I've heard online the blind boxes have been spotted at 5 Below and Walmart in the states, the pet pairs and blind boxes have started showing up at Walmart! And the tubes have been spotted at Target! Of course there could be other locations but because I live in Australia I'm just going off what I've heard and seen online from people who live in the US, so feel free to add any stores or locations I missed :D

Cant say Im a fan of the change to blind boxes for the pet pairs. As a collector I prefer to keep my pets in box and you cant exactly display pets in a blind box. Hoping this isnt the normal going forward for them

I AM SO HAPPY THEY BROUGHT THE MAIN 5 BACK!! the great dane mold has been my favorite mold ever since i was maybe seven years old and first saw it at a friend's house. i'm over twice that age now and i've never gotten an authentic great dane, let alone any great dane at all, because they are SO expensive. can't wait to get my hands on one finally! he looks so good!! 🥺

the whole blind box/tube/pairs thing is so weird, like?? wave 3 could've been the perfect wave where they finally iron out the production problems and the quality issues and everyone can finally just buy and enjoy lps. but no :') they decided to make wave 3 worse with the blind stuff wave 4 baby that'll be the wave sdfhfg no blinds, no production problems, no quality issues I'm so excited to collect the main 5s tho! 😪 not the target exclusives. We barely have any here in Australia😭, The only reason we would get different packaging is due to a new law that we have here being classified as “ Gambling “ when it comes to the mystery boxes

Maybe the reason some things are blind is because they are hoping that people wouldnt buy out the main 5? though it also is very easy to tell which one is what if people know the colors, so that wouldnt help very much if people are buying multiple ones

honestly. if it really is a means to curb scalpers, there's probably a better way to go about it than making everything blind & inconveniencing regular collectors. Like encouraging retailers to have limits on pet pair sales or something.

a couple guesses as to why certain products have visible windows while others don't. i'm not saying this as fact just why i think basic fun is making these decisions. 🤷‍♂️ * nendroid revealed last year (for certain products) that they'd be getting rid of windows to "save on plastic/reduce plastic." although good smile and basic fun are two, completely different companies? this may be for a similar reason. * in certain countries stuff like loot boxes + surprise boxes (video games mostly) are illegal due to the "gambling" aspect. which could explain why international releases are using visible windows for their packaging. as blind boxes could possibly fall under the "gambling, loot box, surprise box" category. as these products are typically made for kids.

Oh my god! I'm still so excited to see these pets, I want them so bad! For the blind tubes and the reasoning behind making the pairs also blind, i feel like its because they have "desirable" pets (main 5) so they want to stop people from going in and scalping or stealing just them altogether? While its really sad (both that people would do that, and that they'd make the tubes and pairs blind), I wish it wasn't something they'd have to even consider doing :(

I really, truly do not understand why Basic Fun is trying to push the blind gimmick onto the tubes and pet pairs. Because yeah they're not ~technically~ blind, but like... what's the point? There's no surprise element unless you have no idea which paw colors are which, but they still act like it's a selling point on the description of the tubes on the official LPS website. I've seen people speculate that they're trying to make more sales so people don't just buy the one set they want and have to get them all or, more controversially, that they're trying to make a profit off of more defective pets. I just wish I knew what they were thinking 🥲 The plush... orbs are definitely a weird design choice LMAO but I feel like they'll be popular with kids. Personally I'll just wait until the full sized plushies drop.

they 100% know how popular the main 5s are and that we're gonna be more willing to take our chances with blind boxes to get them, therefore spend more money if we don't know which box sells what. its all a matter of profit- but aside from my distaste for common business practices, i'm really excited for this wave. at the very least, they're listening to what we want and the designs are improving a lot. :) as a canadian, i hope they come to stores outside of target soon- we don't have that here and i mainly rely on walmart or the dollar store(unsold blind boxes usually end up there for super cheap) to get lps.

Someone on Reddit said to look at the item ID on the left underside of the blind boxes. The last two digits match the pet number. For example, an ID ending in 07 was for the 7th pet (Wave 1 otter) in the single boxes. I've not tried it myself yet.

I actually think it’s fun to have a mystery tube but I understand bout the whole quality on the pets that some are scared to get the bad ones and maybe wasting their money but this series is actually really cute and I’m excited for the Timber wolf I love they added him back and the accessories the salad bowl the computer everything is adorable and ya’ll please remember brand ambassadors can have their own opinions on the products that are shipped to them.

I collect the cats specifically so I'm excited for the cats in here (especially the entire set of them, hah)! Hopefully the stores around me will actually stock them because I had a lot of trouble finding the other waves. The full size plush look like they'll be adorable but all I can see when I look at the minis is Mike Wazowski. The blind packaging is frustrating, but not unexpected.

On one hand I'm excited for wave 3 & feel the designs overall are alright! But it feels somewhat backhanded to see even more of the wave be made into blind packaging. Especially with how bad quality control has gotten in wave 2 it's disappointing that depending on what packaging style shows up in my area I won't get to check the paint jobs beforehand.

Ah, gosh, I wanted to display the wave 3 pet pairs with the ones i got in wave 1 and 2. Not only that but now I can't check for quality before buying, which makes me nervous considering some of the awful quality we saw in wave 2. And for what benefit to BF?

not sure about the quality on the pet pairs or playsets, but i got one of the tubes and a bunch of blind boxes. the quality on them is a very mixed bag (the tube pets have decent paint but squishy heads, and the blind box pets have firm heads but are *very* prone to misprinted eyes and sloppy paint). they seem to be using different factories for the blind boxes versus the pet pairs and playsets. it’s a bummer because most of the pets’ designs are quite cute, i feel like a lot of the color schemes and variety of mold choices have been a step up

I really want the pet pairs with the scottish fold and the octopus. And some blindbags, mainly the Capybara, guinea pig, blonde cat and panda. But in Akaris video, the dalmatian and wolf looked great, too. 😍 And I hope to get the horse in a trade. I won't spend money on a tube I just want 1 pet of. But the horse is a MUST HAVE. 🤩

ive always been so sad that most of the tubes are only at target because i dont have any in my country 💔 (canada lol, and im not in a place that can easily access them) i also really hope i get some of the bigger sets (the ones with 3 pets) in my stores w/ wave 3!! and i also hope so bad that ALL of the pet pairs are more widely spread out because in my area ive had a hard time trying to actually find them aside from the capybara and bird set lol lots of love from canada!! :3
