This driver was not allowing the officer to get into position by moving in front of his bumper at the right moments. If you watch the video, you'll see the driver cut off the cop each time he was ready to get into position to PIT.

For all those losing it over a Kia's top speed, a little perspective. My first car, a 1987 VW Scirocco 16V, had 123 hp and could go 125 mph. This car has no less than 50 percent more horsepower (more than double if it's the turbo) and is much more aerodynamic, meaning even less power is needed to go the same speed. Depending on trim level and assuming it's stock, this should either be limited to 130 mph because of the stock H-rated tires on lower trims or it is drag-limited to 153 mph in the case of the turbo. I don't know why the 140-mph discrepancy, but that speed is easily attainable with Kia power.

My old 2013 Kia optima had 160 on the dash, fastest I went was 128 mph keeping up with a scatpack before a cop merged on and saw us and we went thru the tight round about to merge onto the new highway and we blacked out and both got away without the cop ever getting our plates round 2am, pretty sure mines or Kias in general don’t have a speed governor or prob the older models, they def have some horsepower under the hood tho that’s 1 thing I def loved bout it

Kia’s and Hyundai’s are not govern. I figured that out going against a Charger who kept blocking everyone from passing and he topped out at 115 while me in a N/A Hyundai going 125+. Wasn’t even in Sport mode which blew my mind. Also look at the Elantra N’s how they can go 165 mph from factory. These engines have potential as long as you properly maintenance them

The mistake the Trooper made was asking him to get out of the car without having another unit there. What he should've did was create a diversion and stall until another unit showed up. Then box the guy in, so he couldn't go anywhere. There were way too many red flags 🚩 And if something doesn't seem right, it usually isn't.
