Even though I don’t play this format, seeing every interaction possible with 100 card decks really helps me understand game logic and i love that you guys always talk through possible plays. Wheeler especially does a good job of taking emotion out of winning or losing and disects what actually makes the game win.

If you have the time/means/desire to play, it is totally worth a shot! You can play on modo for a reasonably low price depending on what you want to play. I have a couple of lists that were sub-30USD

Most people don't really understand how good Wheeler is at magic, don't get me wrong there's quite a few good players in LRR but Wheeler's understanding of the game is at a world-class level

Snohomish has the other long running canlander meta and being in the greater Seattle area not to far from Victoria. There are bunch of people in the group that would be great fits for it. Primordial mist was first run by a member of the Snohomish community.

Wheeler would have died if he had. After the attack, he would be at 17 life and only had Emry left to block, but Serge had Karakas in play (which you can tap to return a legendary creature to its owner's hand) and enough creatures on board to do exactly 17 damage.

A lot of cards they play in canlander are banned in commander so you'd have to make the decks much worse to play them in commander. They're also tuned for 1v1 so the decks are naturally not as good in multi-player

Cards are not banned Instead powerful cards (Power 9, Fast Mana, Combo pieces (Flash, Time Vault, Thassa's Oracle)) are assigned a point value of 1 to 7 A 100 card deck can only have a total point value of 10. This allows for powerful and unique cards to be played, but not all of them at once. It keeps the format from congealing into a single "best card" pile while still allowing you to play some of the strongest cards in the game.
