What brackets are you using with your LS Swap? Have you tried out the ICT Billet Brackets?

I agree, but you can't blame a company for branding their products. lol

I totally get it but would prefer it in a less conspicuous placement for most projects I do.

Can you use your stock power steering pump if you wanted
@HotRodHippie5 жыл бұрын
They sell a different bracket set for the standard Saginaw pumps yes. Not with this specific bracket kit though. This is the bracket I'm referring to: amzn.to/2EjFWnB

Can i use corvette power steering pump with this set up
@HotRodHippie5 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is the GM Type II pump I refered to and what this bracket setup is designed to use. When I made this video the pump was delayed in shipping so I didn't get to install it here sadly. I believe they have slightly updated this design since I made this video. So I would check the ICT Billet website for the current design and it's instructions.

What belt did you use for this set up?
@HotRodHippie5 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to say I just don't know for sure. I cannot find it listed in the instructions for this bracket kit and using the AC setup. You should likely contact ICT Billet about the belt choice. It is silly that they don't seem to list the belt option when also using their AC brackets. My configuration had a Kwik Performance AC setup, not ICT Billet, so it may not even be directly relevant for someone else. I think I ended up custom measuring a belt for it and getting one at the parts store. To do that you just take a length of string, tape it to a pulley, then route it around just like it was a belt. Measure how long it is once it wraps back around to it's starting point, then remove an inch or two because the tensioner will need to have tension on it once the belt is installed. I usually take that measurement to the parts store, get that belt then a few other sizes around the size I think I need. Try them until one fits, and return the rest.

What brackets can I use if I want to keep my mechanical fan
@HotRodHippie3 жыл бұрын
Any that maintain the existing water pump you have. This setup could have used a mechanical fan if I would have kept the truck water pump. I switched to the LS3 water pump expressly because I didn’t need the mechanical fan among other reasons. Accessories won’t interfere with the mechanical fan in any combination I can think of.

I have a 4.8 and im wanting to put an ls1 manifold on. Will it be able to work if I just get the ict billet bracket for the alternator and power steering or will I need other things?
@HotRodHippie3 жыл бұрын
LS3 water pump. The stock truck pump outlet is in the way for that swap but the LS3 pump has the right offset to match the truck accessories.

@@HotRodHippie does it matter if I have Machanical fan?
@HotRodHippie3 жыл бұрын
@@raulreveles6293 yes, you can’t run a mechanical fan with the LS3 pump. No provision for it. Some companies used to make spacers so you could run I think Camaro (LS1) pumps on trucks. But I forget as I haven’t built anything with a mechanical fan in years. Sorry I can’t be more help.

who made the a/c brackets?
@HotRodHippie6 жыл бұрын
A company called Kwik Performance. www.kwikperf.com Though ICT Billet makes a similar design as well.

Great video. With the water pump, did you change the crank pulley
@HotRodHippie6 жыл бұрын
No, LS3 and 6.0/5.3L Truck engines use the same dimension balancer. I'm sure there is a difference in the balancers (Weight or something) but the dimensions are the same, so you can use an LS3 waterpump on a LQ4 or other older Truck motor no problem. Sorry I missed answering this sooner.

What alternator do you use on this kit? Part number?
@HotRodHippie4 жыл бұрын
Just the standard Truck alternator that the 6.0L would have had when it was in a 2004 2500HD. Such as this one: amzn.to/31i29wj
