heroisvillain the torque comes on early compared to vtec. I used to be able to cruise at 35 in the city in 5th gear and no shuttering and could still accelerate in 5th. On the highway though it sucked on fuel economy.

@Aaron Cubitt I think the issue is the head design for the non vtec was for economy. I had a full poet and polish valve job bigger cams in my n/a but like you said turbo makes the difference.

Makes me miss my old LS turbo Civic. 94 EG coupe, LS swap with GSR trans and a 60-1 made 405whp on 18psi. Motor had piston, rods, block guard and the head had a mild pnp with Crower stage 2 turbo cams and valve train. Was an absolute blast and it took abuse for over 3 yrs before I got rid of it, not one problem.

The B18 non vtec is a strong motor that's hard to kill. I had the same motor in my 94 Integra and they used that motor for years. I put that car through hell and back with nitrous and many bolt ons with stock internals and it just kept taking all the abuse I threw at it. Such an awesome motor.

@@jeaustinovirgolini9811 it stands for the model of Integra that motor came in. Integra LS is the non vtec B18 base model car. Where as the Integra GS-R and Integra Type R have B18 motors with Vtec. So when someone says they have an LS motor it means that motor has no vtec. You can put a VTEC head on an LS and make what's called an "LS Vtec" as well.

TheMAGGOT SIC The LS engine valves dont open as far as VTEC when its bappin. So more air is able to get into VTEC engines giving more potential for more power. So the fact an LS made so much power is pretty rare.

when marking on the crank pulley matched. the marking on the cam pulley also matched . so you dont need to aim your timing light at the crank pulley. you can just read it at cam pulley.

It isn't the way to do it. Because of timing belt irregularities the cam gear marks are almost never dead on perfect with the crank... And if someone has their cam timing wrong, you're begging for trouble. ALWAYS time it using the damper marks on the crank. If there isn't a lower timing cover, get a piston stop and make a pointer for TDC.

The B20 would be way more fragile, they supposedly have sleeve issues as is, compared to this motor having aftermarket sleeves it would not do what you think it would do. Not really sure why anyone would sleeve and not increase bore, so the displacement is probably similar.

I love the Ls and b20 turbo world. I miss my b20 turbo till one of the magnetic rockers went flying into the oil ports and made my b20 misfire and do mid 12s at the 1/4 😔. 18 psi revving up to 7500 on a fully stock p75 head on a hot day that's what i get 😆.

Every time I notice when you’re tuning a car or moving it slowly. You blip the throttle while letting out the clutch. Just curious is to why you do that versus just giving it some throttle and let go of the clutch.

A heavy clutch in a Honda with a light flywheel is more like an on and off switch, and less like a pedal with a range of play. If you feather the throttle while letting the clutch out you won’t stall the car from the clutch abruptly grabbing. You won’t wear out a clutch doing this, at the worst you might glaze it which is not a big deal and will remedy itself after some normal driving.

saying a big hello from New Zealand, i hope you see this, i love your videos, your work, everyone you spend your time with, i can tell that you have battled very hard to get to this point, i do want the ask a question, this year i have worked on self care, 30 kg i have lost so far, reversed type 2 diabetes, with all this i sorted my depression for good, 2 months ago i was in a rough place with stress, then i got the news i need a double spine fusion, i got home and in the car i had a massive panic attack,, i steps back from it and simply stopped fighting everything, i didn't exist in that moment. when i came back it opened the flood gates and reset my head, in the very best way i unlocked a super energizer bunny and i want see how i can keep it in check before i run out of current goals. i have seen you get perky like me and i thought you may know a few tricks, i must say its good not having the repeating song verses and voices, i was tested and ended up in a ward for 7 weeks, i haven't watch this episode because i want to watch from 2 months ago, is 3 am, think i can sleep now, have an awesome day
