You're right the LS wiring looks intimidating but it's pretty simple. I've done 2. First one I used the factory truck fusebox and all. The second I used the fuse block set up shown on lt1swap.com. the second looks a lot cleaner. Like you I didn't pull out all the unused wires. I just couldn't see the point in it. They don't hurt anything being nipped off in the factory harness and I think it looks good. Keep the good videos coming. Another good video is from gearhead4life. He shows the bare minimum to make an LS run on a stand. It's what pushed me to start my first swap

I had to remove four broken exhaust header bolts on a LS4 using an easy out. I broke the bit on the first bolt, said some choice words and felt defeated. Got the drill out and drilled the easy out bit out and some of the exhaust bolt, used a bigger easy out and thank God it worked! I would say your method is the best method. Thanks for the wiring lesson, you are a LS wiring Professor!

After seeing you break down the hole wireing thing it don't look to bad.. You actually did a good job explaining it.. But to me if I was gonna go that far in to that many wires I would just rewire the hole truck there's cheap kits out there anymore.. So if your gonna add that many to the stock fuse panel.. You might be better off. Looking into a aftermarket harness and just rewire the hole truck.. I would rather be safe than sorry.. Seen too many great cars and trucks burn over bad wireing.. Great job getting that motor IN there also.. Another great job.. Like always.. Keep the wrenches a Turin and the tires a burin.. And keep up the great work..

Pink has been a common GM ignition color for many many years. You kept saying saying key on for this color wire. What you should tell your viewers who are learning by your video, the pink wires are true ignition. Meaning the key energizes this wire and it stays at 12 volts through the crank cycle. The accessory circuit of old days was 12 volts when key on but would lose 12 volts when the starter was engaged. Good video.

If you use antiseize on the manifold bolts they are easy to get out next time without breaking or having a hard time getting them out actually it's a good rule to antiseize any steel bolt going into aluminum because they like to weld each other sometimes in place it makes it much easier to remove next time.

One thing I learned doing these swaps is to remove the Intake manifold, and inspect the wells where the detonation sensors go. Many times they are filled with water, and the sensors are badly corroded. Replace both sensors, and the wiring, throw out the foam blocks, and build a dam with RTV. easier to do now, than later on down the road. On later models, the sensors were moved to the side of block..
@DDSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
thanks buddy, good to know

@@DDSpeedShop This is another lesson I learned, remove and clean the fuel rails, injectors, and so forth. I couldn't get my engine to fire because only one injector was working. I took the fuel system apart, what a terrible odor, it made me sick. If you ever smelled old gas, you know what I'm talking about. I found that it is easier to replace the injectors. There are numbers on the side of the injectors, they tell you things like flow rate and lbs. Lt1 swap.com has the information.
