The LS swapped E91 BMW Wagon is finished and John and Ryan head to Holley's horsepower party in Bowling Green Kentucky LS FEST! LS Fest is an annual event where Holley hosts any vehicle with an LS/LT swapped powerplant with drag racing, drifting, autocross, car show, and vendor displays, and this year they added an off-road course. Ryan runs the wagon on the autocross course, and John straps it to the rollers on the mobile dyno to see what the rear wheel numbers are.

I’m sure dyno is good 322 to the wheels is pretty healthy. Compared to the Beamers 230 at the crank it’s definitely an upgrade.

Hardly went beyond what the current inline 6 does from BMW. I kind of thought it would at least get a turbo or supercharger after hearing him talking about how the stock motors have too low of a ceiling for him lol

The factory car is 200lb and 230 HP so I would say 400Lb ft is an fair upgrade

A set of nice trick-flow heads would have added more hp..along with a more aggressive cam..but i'm sure they were working on a low budget

@@g1967 Couldn't get the Trick Flow heads they were on infinite back order when we filmed. The engine came with Rec Port heads....but they were cracked.....and replacements were 6 months out.....cathedrals were all that were on the shelf

I feel bad for all that hard work. You guys need a Holden SS wagon. Or even better look up an HSV Tourer Wagon the last ones were supercharged factory. GM Ozzie, never afraid to build Horsepower Factory cars. RIP.

I'm all for LS swaps but for this platform there are better options for more HP. An N54 makes 400whp and 4XX tq basic bolt ons and a tune.

Um, did you say 322 rwhp? Man, that’s an awful lot of work to just go and choke it off with the stock exhaust. The E90 M3 had a V8. Seems more than plausible that you could source a much less restrictive M3 exhaust system and compatible rear facia that would make it look and sound way better while freeing up some serious power. Please tell me this is in the works for this car? Unless there’s something different about the floor stampings that would keep an M3 exhaust from fitting? If so you still owe it to the car to have a proper exhaust fitted.

There is no m3 wagon platform. That would require more modifications. But I do understand where your coming from and agree

@@chadriddle3517 E90 sedan, E91 wagon and E92 coupe are all the same basic platform. M3 had bespoke suspension bits and dual exhaust. If the floor pan is the same on all three + M3 variants (I believe it is) then M3 exhaust should fit. Not sure about the rear facia, but 335i turbo models all had dual exhaust so a solution shouldn’t be too hard. If the sleeper look is that important, at least fab up a custom exhaust that looks stock at a glance but flows much better than the stock equipment that was designed to support half the engine displacement. Anything less than 400+ rwhp seems so not worth it for this much effort and expense. Especially with 243 heads and an upgraded cam! The LS6 throttle body they used is a 100% waste at this power level.

@@superspeeder I am just guessing here. But I have a filling they prioritized looks over performance. Large free flowing duel exhaust would definitely have some interference with the super low stanced suspension.
