You should film the process if you do. I have a 335 as well, I probably would never LS swap it, but buying a cheap 3 series and making a drag/street car would be really fun. For my 335, I've always wanted to M series motor swap with a supercharger, I think it would make a great combo.

E85Johnson I plan on trying to filming it. I was thinking about buy a built n55 for my car but and LS motor can hold more power than a n55 block can. The most anybody has really got out of an n55 was around 900whp and that is not going to last long.

Any of you watching installed the 4L80? I’m assuming the shifter solenoid that allows you to put the car in gear would need a 12 V signal from the brake switch? Is the shift solenoid wire found in the DME box? I haven’t purchased a subscription to new tis yet. I figured somebody watching has done this.

Just want to confirm pin 41 from the cas needs 12v switched in order to initiate the start up sequence like normal. So to do that tap into pin 4 on the break switch and run a wire to pin 41 on the cas? For us stand alone guys

With the T56 or TR6060 you don’t have to, if you run a 4l80 you’ll need to do some cutting or hammer some clearance into the tunnel mainly for the connector on the trans. So far with the glide it looks like minor massaging so that we have more room for the linkage connection.

If you set realistic goals, the products offered by Mike at LSE90.com make this incredibly straight forward. We find ppl have projects come to a halt because they try to do too much at once, don’t drop $10,000 on a built engine, just find one that was running, swap the pan and install it. If you focus on simply completing the swap and worry about upgrades after, you’ll be fine.

How did Franks motor do on the factory BMW fuel system while NA? I wont be boosting mine and should only be around the 450 hp range. Just looking at some cost cutting if possible. Would a 335 pump system be a sure thing for plug n play if I have to bump it up?

It was fired up on the stock pump but never driven hard on it, he swapped in the radium setup with a single 450, when he went turbo he wired the second pump.

A rough figure is 10-12k for the cheapest swap. We charge around $5500-6000 labor to swap one complete with working a/c, gauges, etc. Parts wise expect to spend another $6000 or so depending on what you want for an engine, transmission, exhaust, any cam or intake you’d like, etc.

@@rushco.8811 we’re down in Houston, Texas. Mike has X drive motor mounts and trans mounts, you Just lose the AWD. Currently there is no way to keep it with the LS. So you can either swap k members to a 2wd setup or keep the x drive k member, and just delete all the awd components.

This car had a T56 originally and now has a 4l80. There are several transmission options including DCT, stock bmw auto and manual, T56, TR6060, magnums, 4l80, 4l60.

Would those engine mounts work if the base car is a manual 6 cylinder diesel (which has a very strong gearbox afaik) and the LS is mated to the original gearbox with an adapter kit (running on a standalone ofc)? I doubt it but hope dies last. Also, I understand that if I run the car on 2 ecus I can keep the standard features of the car (air conditioning and stuff), is that right? Thanks!

The simplicity of a full gm drivetrain is a lot of the benefit of this swap. You can check on real oem to see if the subframe is the same and compatible with the mounts.
