LS Swapped Mercedes 280se Won't Start?! - 6.2L LS3 Benz Ep. 8

We've gotten so far with the LS3 swapped 280se Mercedes Benz. It's now a beautiful dark purple, the LS3 in finally installed for the last time, and we have just about everything hooked up in the engine bay to finally fire up our 6.2L Chevy motor! We just have to hook up our ECU, fabricate a custom intake, and get our 7" LCD gauges in place to be able to start turning over this motor!
If only it was that easy though! Watch the full episode to see just how much of a headache a simple LS swap can be as we try to get this LS3 Mercedes rolling down the road!

Thanks for showing us that even the Pros get poor results upon the first few start-up attempts. We all feel a little better knowing that - but we're sure you can track down the problem and resolve it. Very cool LS Swap! Love the custom upgrades too!

Friendly suggestion from a fellow gear head: Have those exhaust manifolds coated!! That's a powerful motor and a heavy car. When under heavy acceleration (which better be always), I can't see how those manifolds won't be glowing bright orange. This is the BEST build on the tube!!!

Thank you! The manifolds should be fine on this build. The owner isn't going to be beating on this motor too much. If we knew he was going to be really put the hammer down, we'd coat them like you suggested!

This is probably already fixed by now, but I would guess it is a bad ground somewhere. Love the video's guys!

The coils were definitely bad, but the final issue with the no-start was something so freakin simple

You've probably herd this a lot; but it might be a bad ground...it's probably fixed by now as well.

We figured out the issue and got it running the very next morning! We'll let you guys know what the issue was on the next episode. It wasn't a bad ground but something else that was super simple!

I'm sure you know that a low voltage battery will not start a computer based ignition. 10 volts is minimum.

Our battery voltage was fine!
