Naaa, that’s what they were talking about when they were sitting down in the beginning. It’s over $10 + less than to have a stock rebuilt from Porsche then when you LS swap it it’s $20-$25k total for a complete LS swap..

@@alexsailer5505 … no, you just need to pay for quality parts Tim is working on woven fiberglass/carbon fiber/epoxy resin aero vs chop glass/polyester resin parts like most make, combine that w/ top notch fitment, weight savings even over competitor fiberglass parts, etc and you’re going to pay for it (has nothing to do w/ the “Porsche tax”

Doesn’t the Porsche ecu store the mileage too? Not that it matters for functionality but when you sell the car it would likely get labeled with an odometer discrepancy or MNA (Mileage Not Actual). For a 93’ Nissan Sentra…. Who cars lol, but a 997 S with an expensive swap, that could severely effect the value at sale time. Or maybe I have bad info…… any of the work I have done on Porsches has not involved removing the ECU.
@chavisperformanceengineering6 ай бұрын
Mileage is stored in THREE places (DME being one of them), mileage can be verified at the cluster and/or other body module

Stock trans is J U N K. Save your money and buy a 997TT trans. Cut the shaft for the front diff and use a GT3 997 trans front cover (convert the trans to 2whd)
@chavisperformanceengineering6 ай бұрын
They’re not though … we had a DIY customer put 900whp through his non-Turbo/GT trans w/o issue and have had cars on the road since ‘18 w/ no trans issues Also, if running a Turbo/GT trans you’d need to run a new adapter plate, flywheel, and clutch kit … regardless what you said is wild, he could just purchase a GT3 trans from the jump (as it’s in theory a RWD Turbo trans) and not “cut off” the output shaft, insane thinking
@racingdatasystems37086 ай бұрын
@@chavisperformanceengineering we raced them professionally with less than 300lb ft of tq (and won championships in a pro series, not club racing) we could barely keep them together for 2 1.75hr races each weekend. The ratios don't really make a lot of sense for a LS street car. 3K RPM at 70 with a 24in tire?
@chavisperformanceengineering6 ай бұрын
@@racingdatasystems3708 Insanely surprised to hear that, speaking off personal experience w/ 35+ in-house conversions and dealing w/ multiple DIY builds … we have never had an issue w/ the factory non-Turbo/GT transaxle so am surprised to hear such … what trans fluid were you running? Did you change fluid after each race? Lots of questions … While the ratios aren’t perfect for an LS it makes for some wild torque manipulation and a completely drivable/capable car w/ only customer complaining (when they do) about 6th gear (80mph @ 3200rpms), to our knowledge this is no drop gear sets available for these trans and even if there was many won’t spend the money having their trans rebuilt just to install them as such costs about $4500
