hey is there a way to control the pan and tilt encoders with an akai mpc? whats the best software to use. i basically need a midi controller to program my lights. it would be nice to be able to use the encoders on the mpc to control the panning and tilting of each individual fixture. please let me know if this is possible

Dots can't do the same level of MIDI input, it's also not nearly as advanced, and it's discontinued!

Hey I just run a project where I build my own MIDI Controller with an Arduino Microcontroller for the MA2 Console, because I miss the old Exec- Button Field of the MA1 on the MA2. Can you just show me the LUA Script which controls your LEDs? I've got everything running just fine, but I haven't found an easy way yet to read out the LED information, except on PC over the ReadProcessMemory. But this of course would only work on the PC...

I really like this video. I got myself a apc20. But i have a issue. If i compare to your step i can see that you are using the 1,2,3 button on the blue, green red. I have done that in the same way as you. BUT... But These are toggles button as default. so if you want att a Temp button on button 1 that is a Problem Have you found a workaround? /Thanks Fredrik

There is a way to change the mode of the APCs via a MIDI command. It's included in the file package but you can probably find the answer via Google.

Hello. Thanks for answering. I solved the problem. I use Midi bome Translator and thanks to 2 midicommands you can set these buttons to " off toggle mode." But i have a new question: How di d you make the knop to act like a Executor. Yes, just use you mouse and click on the large yellow ball on the bottom right of Screen one. Then it will control pan/tilt.

Not entirely alternative to a full-size. You aren't able to process 65.536 paramtres. You would need a replay unit for that!

Beforehand when I was looking for smaller solutions, that still would reach the limit of an MA2 system, I used a replay unit in session with Ma onPC, connected to a command wing. But the new MA3 makes the whole situation a lot better. Although I'm not sure if 250.000 is the real limit of the system. I did some maths, and with 14 XL Processing Units, 1 Medium Processing Unit, and a full size, you would get 262.144 parameters. Which seems more like a MA systems limit to me.

You have to run BootCamp to put Windows on your Mac. grandMA3 will run on a Mac, though only for preprogramming and backup. I suggest buying a new touch screen 2 in 1 laptop. I have a new Samsung 2 in 1 with an SSD drive that is perfect for onPC
