Thanks for sharing. I have the 400 version for my shore fishing. Unfortunately it cannot cast lures less than 1 ounce very well. Thinking about getting the 200 version for my sea bass fishing because I need to use light soft plastic or pencils. Your video cleared my doubts on the ability for this reel to cast light lures👍👍👍

Good video, ty. I bought the LH version when it came out and preferred it over the TranX. I found the Penn to feel refined in the cast and retrieve than the TranX but on par performance wise. The ergonomics is better as access to the magnetic break is way easier with the Penn and it has double the usable drag.

Nice. I wouldn't mind trying the smaller Tranx and I do like my Curado DC's, but the Penn Fathom LP is a great reel for all that you mention and more.

Have you noticed less power or hard to crank when using this high speed reel ?

Not specifically. The most noticeable difference is simply line take-up rate. This is only a 200 size reel. I guess that could become a concern a 300 or 400 size, though many baitcasters in that size (like Tranx and Lexa) come with a power knob. I have seen where Fluke fishermen put a power knob on a 200 class reel, so I guess it could be done on this one; however I have never seen the gear ratio make it hard to crank.

This is the case for all high speed reels. The higher speed you got, the less torque you have. That means you need more power to turn it. It is just like the gears in manual cars. If you try to start with 4th gear, the engine will stall

So that is a rod called the LMG which is built by Bull Bay Tackle company here in Florida. The LMG stands for Largemouth Game, So it's kind of intended to be a bass fishing rod for Largemouth Bass but it works really well as an all-around rod even in Inshore conditions.
