I like the idea of building your tool with the safety line and putting it on the back bolt before install. Between that and the manual release valve reminder you probably saved me 2 hours.

Thanks friend. You may have just saved me 1500 bucks! The shop wanted 800 for the part and said 'this is an all day job'.

Yeah and it's already pricey as a diy if you want the factory motor. As an update, I did my motor replacement in that actual video at the time it was published. Still solid.

I'm going the less expensive way (Amazon). Trim isn't really an issue if it fails where we boat. Worth the savings to try it out. Btw love the fishing line trick... I'll be using it!

Just bought the cheap Chinese knockoff for this exact job. Looks good so far. Wish me luck!

I think it should work fine. My buddy has a Yamaha and replaced his trim motor about 2 years ago and went with the aftermarket brand and it's going strong. The one from Suzuki is incredibly expensive, so I don't blame you one bit.

@@longstrangejourney4776 To make it worse, in Canada the OEM motor is close to $900! I'll take my chances with the $150 version and rebuild the original later and keep as a spare.

I would love to see a walkthrough of the boat. I have a 1992 Deluxe and love it. I haven't seen anyone doing videos with a Deluxe.

Sure. I just completed a renovation of the hull itself and the top side two years ago. I'll do a complete video soon. Just waiting for it to get a bit warmer to hit the sandbar to drop a walk around. I just put a new video up today, and there is one in my video list called Running from the Sun.
