10:48 Because agencies that deal with child actors have deep ties to the record label industry. Remember that Miley Cyrus and Arianna Grande both got a start to their careers with Hannah Montana and VicTORIous respectively, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Why do you think FRED had a music album after the first movie came out? Why do you think they attempted to make Miranda Cosgrove into a popstar at one point? Why do you think Kidz Bop exists? It’s the music industry with all of these connections, and they put these kids into sitcoms as a marketing avenue for their music careers.

It's sad that Nickelodeon throughout the 2010's never had an actual renaissance like Disney and Cartoon Network did, with a bunch of their shows getting canned way too soon for arbitrary reasons while putting out subpar or low quality shows, with exception of The Loud House (which that show is already getting stale by the first couple of episodes). Nickelodeon barely innovates and push the animation medium during that time and plays it way too safe while multiple bad actors in that studio doing all the heavy lifting .

I've long held reservations about Dan Schneider's work, save for a few exceptions like The Amanda Show and Good Burger. Recent revelations have only confirmed my unease, prompting me to disengage from his productions. Nickelodeon urgently needs to overhaul its management practices, implementing stringent protocols to prevent individuals like Schneider from exerting unchecked influence. Regarding Rugrats 2021, it's release amid the SpongeBob spinoff discourse was ill-timed, even though that wasn't the intent. Being CGI (even if executive mandated) and the overblown controversy of Betty being a lesbian (Which mainly started because of that AV Club article) didn't help. Despite this, the reboot manages to honor the original while incorporating modern elements. While it doesn't surpass its predecessor, it offers some solid episodes, sometimes coming close to reaching the highs of the original Rugrats, though you would be willing to have to overlook the CGI and certain changes. I hope Nickelodeon heeds these concerns and redirects its focus accordingly.

At the same time as SpongeBob I also loved Jimmy Nuetron, Fairly Odd Parents, Back at the Barnyard, Paw Patrol, the 2012 TMNT. Granted I did watch a fair share of Cartoon Network shows, as well as Phineas & Ferb and Gravity Falls on Disney, but Nick was my go-to. I never really watched the sitcoms on any of the channels with the only Nick one I cared about being iCarly and Disney being Suite Life on Deck (never watched the original), so it's sad hearing about all of this now. What makes it worse is that my favorite show when I was 13 was replaced by another Nick show, The Loud House, which was then replaced by My Little Pony not soon after. Now, I don't really care about Nickelodeon much and prefer some of the cooler, lore filled shows on Cartoon Network, but there are still 3 shows I like from Nick: Avatar, iCarly, and I want to check out Invader Zim. Nickelodeon did nothing to help. The only true reason Nickelodeon finally intervened because they were losing money in Dan's shows.

Back when kids were getting slimed and so many people stood by and watched. How many feet need to get sniffed before we put these weirdos behind bars? Maybe that's a little too extreme though, it would be punishment enough to send them to prison instead, slavery in the food service industry is a torture no one deserves

can we stop only using Dan Schneider specifically as like the face for this??? Ive seen so many people just talk about Dan like he was the only person doing any wrong… he abused his power in sick ways but compared to the other two people mentioned on the quiet on set documentary can we please hold those people accountable and as the face of dark nick…. You guys really need one face to point at…. PLEASE EXPOSE EVERY SICK INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS INVOLVED LIKE BRIAN PECK
@Martina_B7 ай бұрын
Agree. Dan is just the one who is the most known and talked about between all the scumbags mentioned, he is just the tip of the iceberg. It's like blaming what Israel is doing to Palestine solely on Netanyahu when its actually the entire Israeli government and army not to mention the settlers who are openly racist towards Palestinians, steal their homes and hold guns even when doing the most mundane and regular things.

Now it’s just a SpongeBob channel which it’s about to have a 25th anniversary coming soon to which they are gonna celebrate with the kids choice awards. Why couldn’t they do the same for fairly odd parents, Rugrats, avatar or Danny Phantom for their anniversary?😔
@a18yearoldonyoutubeluigi7 ай бұрын
@@jayjaybulldog9180 as a kid I’d be the dumbass to defend Nick as better than CN just cause I was a Spingaling Bop fanboy. It kinda feels after Avatar ended or the first SpongeBob movie the network as a whole completely jumped the shark. As I said, true tragedy, watch CN or Disney Channel instead. It also sucks cause I’m incredibly nostalgic for their Jr shows, I’d argue some are more iconic than their main ones, Blue Clues, Wonder Pets, THE BACKYARDIGANS MY GUY!
