I have a few different ls motors with the gm performance ls7 lifters in them when you go to dealer they ask you what ones you want i have just always run the gm performance ones without any issues my gto has morel lifters if i remember correctly lol did the lifters back years and years ago they have been amazing ever single time i drive the car it hits over 7000rpm and most times i will be bouncing it off the limiter lol 😂 original block built it back around 2012 or 2013 daily drove it tell about a year ago

This is crazy glad u know what your hearing yeah that is definitely not ok most times i see lifter issues its really a push rod issue or oil issue or the wheels fall apart i have even seen a few guys that have run wrong bore size lifters lol i only run rotella 15/40 non synthetic oil in everything i own and i beat the hell out of every single motor i have never have any issues i bet your right tho those lifters are probably set up for some super thin junk oil because everyone nowadays runs crazy thin synthetic thanks for showing this now i know to never ever run those

I have ran 3 sets of delphi lifters with success but they all seemed to be more ticky sounding than factory ones. With that said I have torn lifters down to discover pretty much the same thing you have! In my budget engines I have been reusing nice factory take outs that I pull apart, clean and inspect and have had no issues with that as well. Personally I don’t like buying new lifters that could potentially be bad right out of the box(mainly delphi). I am running a set of gatorman link bar lifters in a 408 stroker but those seem to be hard to get these days or I’d buy another set of those.

@@LynnTwinCustoms513 from what I read, they really are a hit and miss as a matter of fact I called the buddy last night and told him exactly what happened and he said he had a friend who bought a set of Delphi right out of the box did the exact same thing…so I don’t know at this point, is it really worth the gamble, like I said, I ordered Meling. I’ve never had any issues with, the worst part is the Delphi ones aren’t cheap. I’d say OK you know if they were budget lifters and they didn’t work OK you get what you pay for but at 300 and some dollars a set they’re not giving them away for them to be junk, and on top of it after my conversion right here in Canada, they end up being like closer to 500 bucks

I feel like these lifters, the way, the design want a particularly thin oil, if I were to do it again With these lifters, which I won’t, I would’ve soaked them in 0-20 oil, and started the engine up with a 5w20

@ Yeah I thought the same thing for the money you should be getting a quality product. Granted mine didn’t/haven’t failed yet just wasn’t particularly happy with how they sounded. That’s with proper pushrod length and experimentation with different lengths. I have a 400k Yukon with an untouched engine that has quieter lifters lol
