LSU is about to enter its dark ages of football. You cannot build a competitive team if you have to rely on the portal every year. Its like you have a new and different team every year. Most teams are in this same situation. There are only about 8 teams that are going to prosper in the NIL format. LSU cannot compete with those teams in the NIL situation. The rest of the teams should just forget about being competitive with the top 8 NIL teams. There should be an NIL league. The rest of the teams should form their own league and not play with the top NIL teams.

They will implement revenue sharing with a salary cap within the next 2 years, with a salary cap. It’s already in the works, all this will end, they’ve already stated in meetings for instance, a scholarship will be valued at 250k against the salary cap. This will be much more manageable, current timelines are showing everything will be agreed upon in early to mid 2025 and enacted the 2026 season.
