As a longtime USC fan, I will never forget the many contributions Coach O made to that football program. He was also greatly loved by its players -- he instilled a very special enthusiasm in them. USC should have found a way to keep him there, but it was his destiny to head for LSU. Many thanks, Coach!

Don't bother he was a bum, never coached a game in his life ... wait on it you will find the it wasn't so peachy with him, the staff and the players. LSU will be fine, but ask yourself where was this running game in the early part of the season, why arent they using the same D as they won the national championship with. Both decisions were made by coach O, the same guy who dumped his wife of 20+ years dating several other women and tried to pick up a married woman who was pregnant who is married to a top LSU official. The only love he had was the young women.

I been a supervisor for 10years the one thing they tell you. I had to build a case file against an employee about the time they came in for work, the attitude toward me and other employees. They had to be fired because they didn't meet the requirements for the job but it had to be documented. Everyone listed in the document had to show up court the hearing ... however he didn't. Now the director of HR thought of the guy highly, but she didn't know what type of person he really was ... My point people on the outside have no idea whats going on behind closed doors. When you do things the right way, when you care, when you fit perfectly with the culture of the program , and when you have won a National Championship very recently, you deserve WAY more benefit of the doubt than Coach Ogeron is getting here. Were talking about a season and a half after a National Title and your canning a guy that bleeds purple and yellow. Nearly every comment on here supports him in one way or another. Who else wants to sign up for this job? They have now canned 2 National Championship winning coaches. What do ya got to do to stay on this job?

About the only thing he did was care. You should read about all the issues he’s had with character. He’s not a great or even good coach but he could recruit.
@cosmic_sloth3 жыл бұрын
The only thing he did right was hiring Joe Brady and rolling the dice on a new transfer QB that turned out prolific. Lightning in a bottle. The program fell apart as soon as that 2019 LSU team and its staff left, which says less about Coach O and more about the people who left. He cared for sure, everyone wants to win, but he cared more about chasing college girls and having a party life. Divorced his wife immediately after winning the champion, multiple photos and videos with him sleeping with and dating a harem of 20 year old girls, bringing his multiple girlfriends to practices and letting their 10-12 year old sons disrupt practice enough for players to miss multiple reps. It's no wonder a lot of the remaining talent on the roster checked out in 2020 and still don't care in 2021. That's the coach you want to support? I'm sorry, but if Coach O stayed he'd run LSU into the ground, you'd become a Tennessee in the SEC West and won't recover from it for a long time.
@PurpleChevron3 жыл бұрын
You nailed the problem with this. Nebraska made this mistake. Texas made this mistake. And this is even worse. This is about that front office. Nick Saban built his program and won and they let him go due to money. Les Miles won and they fired him due to clashes with the front office. Quite right,a sad day for a great guy, the results doomed his coaching future at LSU BUT WILL BE REMEMBERED OF THE GREATEST SEASON IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, THE 2019 LSU TIGERS COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS, THAT'S GOT A NICE RING 💍 TO IT!!!!🙏 HAPPY THOUGHTS AND GREETINGS ALL THE WAY FROM BELGIUM, well I've just heard THE REAL REASONS WHY, MAYBE IT'S NOT A SAD DAY AFTER ALL, LOOK IT UP....

We could use a defensive line coach and fantastic recruiter of his caliber at Alabama and we have a nationally renowned coaching program. Come to Bama for a couple years and rejuvenate your career Coach O.

As a gophers fan it’s sad to this happen I don’t know all the reasons why this is happening but LSU is a great program and will continue to be a powerhouse but regardless sad to see a national championship coach leave within acouple years of winning it all

Also would love to see LSU play Minnesota one day lol

The ‘weight’ of $18 million will keep him strong and optimistic!! If the school could PROVE anything, they wouldn’t have offered him the buyout!! He’s a GREAT GUY who we can’t wait to see where he ends up!!!!

Y’all acting like O is in distress. He’s getting millions to leave. He’s fine.

I hope so too. I hope they keep O on the teams coaching staff. At least let him go back to being a position coach.

I'm happy he was the coach

C'mon there has gotta be a much bigger story behind this. This doesn't really make sense from the aspect that the coach they get to replace him is not even likely to win a Natty championship.

I mean, they straight up suck. That’s all there is to it

How does a man take 4 steps forward , 2 steps backwards, and get fired? I dont see a coach avaiable thats gonna make us more competitive. I think he earned at least 1 more season.
@willpicou98283 жыл бұрын
Ed took 2 steps forward and 4 steps backwards. 2019 was a great season, but lsu expects to have national championsip contendors every year. Ed has only been able to compete for a national championship 1 outa the 6 years at lsu.

There’s plenty of coaches who’d love to take their shot at LSU lol. He’s not a good coach, hired too many bad coordinators, and lost focus.

Dude running Carolinas offense currently and head coach of Baylor won the natty in 19

Stupid for getting rid of him. Next year this team will be stacked. Better have the right coach in there.

I think they should have gave him one more year remember two years ago he won a national championship wishing you the best Coach O and thanks for all the memory

i feel for coach o i’m an aggie but the standard of winning and going undefeated is so high these days if a team is not in the championship it’s looked on as a failure which is honestly sad and trust me we pressure jimbo too

Coach O is a class act. I didn't approve of the remark he made walking into the stadium about the "sissy" colored shirt or something to that effect or the remarks he made in the Alabama visitor's locker room but our emotions get the best of all of us sometimes. Not one person can deny Coach O's love for the State of Louisiana or the young men he coached. Louisiana should be proud of him and I believe that Coach O is a damn good man. I have been an Alabama fan since birth and I love the SEC. I wish Coach O nothing but success and happiness in his future, as long as it isn't against my Crimson Tide lol. Good luck in the future Coach O, college football needs more coaches who feel the undying love for their program and state like you have. That being said, Geaux Tigahs and Roll Tide. You are one of a kind Coach O.

Hate to see coach o go as a dawgs fan but if I was getting 17 mil to leave I wouldn't worry about coaching again. Fuck it. I would drink beer on my boat and fish in the bayou
