When you go for stickier tires I vote to keep OEM looking rims. The grandpa look is just too good.

@ChrisHallett83 those would be awesome, but those only come in 6 lug and the Tacoma is 5 lug.

The rims on this truck only came on the S-Runner. Looks like a lot of Srunner parts made it on this truck. Only missing the badges and fiberglass flares. Body kit was optional. Lol

You should consider changing your channel name to Tom's OCD Garage. And I mean that in the nicest way. Your attention to detail is off the charts. That LS install could be a factory setup.

He pays more attention to detail than most OEM workers on the assembly line. This is more the level of a high end tuning or custom shop. Think old-school, hand built AMGs or the like.

I think my favorite thing about both Thunderbolt and Firebolt is the fact that both engine bays and the cars overall just look factory. Nothing flashy (except for the intercooler hanging out in FB), just a straight forward close-to-oem-look and you wouldn't know the difference until you started both cars and drove them. I love it.

Started watching your channel during the v8 miata build, lost interest in the v8 truck build, and now have renewed interest in the v8 truck build as a buddy of mine is offering me a 4 cylinder frontier. We put a gen one SBC in a 88 or 89 taco back in the day and just about had to replace all the suspension parts over the year we had it before we sold it. It was just a mild 250-300hp street build but would tear up stuff non stop.

Your attention to detail continues to boggle my mind. How often do you see an LS swap into a Toyota that almost looks like it could have rolled off the assembly line as it sits? Other than the radiator and a couple of billet accessories, it looks so subtle! It would ruin the aesthetics of this, but any thoughts on moving the battery to the back to improve weight distribution? Looking forward to seeing the evolution into a corner-carver!
