Over the last week or so I have gotten asked numerous times to do a video explaining the engine setup in the LSXcalade in detail...so here it is! I think I covered just about everything important but if there's anything else you want to know or I left out...leave a comment and I will answer it. Hopefully you can learn from my process explained here when it comes to configuring the engine/turbocharger setup on your next build!

Keep kicking ass. I'm sure we'll see even better #'s from you very soon. I've never looked at your build before, I have to say I am very impressed considering you are relatively new to this! That's definitely no Texas speed Clam box, I'm not knocking them but they're not made for all out killer power. Your motor Frankenstein heads and the ls next block is 100% animal. That job you did on the valve covers with the radius and the headers is something else. It's seriously impressive. You can only go so far with the LS platform reliably. You are just about there. You could go with BME rods and some seriously fat pushrods. I was thinking about a 4 piece pushrod design. A 3/4 in. ultra high modulus base going up to the head and a 13mm / 1/2 inch titanium shaft to clear the pushrod holes with tool steel end caps. PSI valve springs and spin it up higher. You'll have to start doing things like filling the block and billet main girdle between the pan rails in lieu of caps if you don't have it already to head towards 3khp reliably only spinning 8500. You can spin it faster (close to 10k) and get close with more airflow capability and super stiff pushrods and stout psi hand matched springs. Comp has had a little more than a year of development time with wide sweeping arc lifts to run reliably up to 11k rpm. Think you'll need 55mm roller bearing cam journals or similar. I

It'd be neat if you could reintegrate the stock pcm so your gauges work again. Matt Happel did that on his recent 2500 build, spliced in the signals needed from a holley terminator x into the stock pcm so everything worked as normal.

Most people that talk and talk make me yawn, but listening to you and your explanations of every piece of your motor and vehicle in general has me wanting more! It’s great to hear how many people and companies have stepped up to help you with all of this. I was thinking until now, how the hell were you able to get this program to this point without you having a bucket full of money! The top shelf parts and components would cost a guy like me $50 to $60 grand and probably quite a bit more than that if I were to just buy everything out of catalogs. And that’s just for the motor! You are doing this the right way. I Will be catching up watching all your videos, I’m about 3/4 the way through at this point and am watching all your new ones as they come out. Keep them coming!

Hey dude great build! You see a lot of big HP guys going air-to-water to manage intake temps, but you've stayed with a beefy air-to-air intercooler. I'm sure you've done your homework on it so I was just wondering what factors led you to stick with air-to-air, and do you think it'll handle 8 second pass power levels, or is an air-to-water in the builds' future?

great work man. that thing is a beast. if youre into crazy experiments then try something like a diesel HDI block with hayabusa heads and running on gasoline. or maybe do a block for dryruns where you fill water channeling with epoxy to make it as strong as possible. i even saw some swedes that had a hemi 4 banger. it was an old V8 topfuel engine where they shaved the one sides cylinders off and still making 2000 hp . ill add the link when i find it again. its crazy. they can really pull some power out of engines. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIeQg4mma9Ckatk you see it at 6:45 but alot of insane machines there.

U should try out js alternators he builds alts for car audio use but could definitely build something for u that would hold ur rpm and ur amps, we run alts up to 500 amps, at 1750 rpm, so he could fine tune one for exactly what u want, or u could go thru mechman but js alt is a one man band and he is good and humble mechman is kinda big fish now
