Richard holder did a few videos on this. On a lq4 the stock 706 made more power down low compared to the 243. And the stock 243 made more up top.

In real world track results, I don't trust Richard's "engine dyno results". Im watching blue collar run 13.0s and dynod 335 rwhp with a 6.0 862/706 head. We can throw the dyno numbers away, 13.0s is what we're left with. I've worked both sets of heads over before, the 243 is miles better. Mill the 243 down because I'm always at 67-68cc in real world cc results, not the 64cc gm claims. Others who actually measure see the same results. I'm in the middle of a silverado (4x4), ls1/ported 243/224-228 cam build, I will be posting results in a few months from now.

Nice way to announce a cam swap.

I've seen a 243 head on one bank, and 799 on the other, both were LC9 5.3's . They left the factory that way.

862 heads all the way. They're cheap as hell and you get the bump in CR from the small combustion chambers. Driveway engineer has several vids on it

Are they any better than the 706’s or the same compression wise? I got lucky, the heads I have aren’t the Castech’s

What’s with the flashing light I couldn’t deal with that I’d have to fix that before I could even start procrastinating my next project
