Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I adjusted the panhard bar right after shooting this video. I still need to dial it in a bit more, but it’s much better. Next video I’ll be modifying the weight jacks to fit the S60🤟

Hey Matt, what brakes did you use on your new s-60? Did you get them from strange? And did you order the axel to fit your vette wheels bolt pattern?
@techjunkie47865 жыл бұрын
The Strange 12 bolt or 8.8 is the better rear end for your application. The 9” and Dana60 sap so much power. Drivetrain loss is a big deal, and heavy rear ends react slower to road undulations which hurts handling performance. Your Dana60 will be bulletproof, though.

I bought a complete 9 inch with Wilwood disc brakes for my 1977 TA from Strange and it was hassle free bolt in and a super strong upgrade. I almost went with with the S60, but the 9 inch was more than good enough for my street car. Great choice you made and you can't go wrong with Strange Engineering and they make some awesome stuff.

Can't beat a S60 or Ford 9". 8.8 is tough as balls, but for a little more you made the right choice
@teamgmotorsports6 жыл бұрын
So glad to see you went with the strange S60! You won’t be disappointed! It is actually stronger than a 9”, as it has a 9.75” ring gear as apposed to a 9” ring gear in the 9”rear end! The case is stranges own design, and has the torque arm mount cast into the housing and is a lot stronger then the welded on makeshift brackets on the 8.8 and 9”! I have a strange S60 and recommend to you to get one. Again, you won’t be disappointed. By the way, the extra weight of the S60 will help you slightly to hook up at the track, as that weight is directly over the rear tires, and as low as you can get it. Make certain you follow their break in procedure before you beat on the rear end at all!!!
@jeffbrown61555 жыл бұрын
don't want to burst your bubble,,the thing that makes the 9" better/stronger is the pinon support. at the back of the pinon gear.. it takes a larger load without deflection. just so ya know..and ya can swap gears in 40 min with just 1 guy doing it..but any upgrade is better then what ya had..
@kennydemartini21693 жыл бұрын
@@jeffbrown6155 I was going to make the same comment about the pinion support. I don't believe in the break-in procedure nonsense either. I have set up hundreds of rear ends, and a majority of them when straight to the dragstrip with little or no miles on them.

Just because it looks like the axle may be offset to the left (drivers side) which may give the passenger side that height look that it has, may just be the shadows from my point of view in the video. Thanks.
