That’s a lovely clip that the show gets right. Also, the older I get, the more I can see the love and pride and excitement of the parents as a good and positive things

Especially nowadays where it seems to be a trend to pretty much disowned your parents for not being perfect parents 100% of the time and like humans messing up sometimes
@robertaylor92185 ай бұрын
@@lilyrose1581I don’t see that. But I do see that kids expect parents to try harder as adults. I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

@@robertaylor9218 you might want to elaborate on that cuz I'm not for sure what you mean people need to take responsibility for the things they need to do for sure but what more do you think parents need to do as a generational thing
@robertaylor92185 ай бұрын
@@lilyrose1581 I don’t think that a given generation of parents is screwing up. What I meant was that millennials and zoomers seem to expect their parents to put in their end of the work for a healthy relationship. Maybe this isn’t new, but it seems like they are more firm about it. Maybe it’ll mean less parents ending up alone and unvisited in retirement homes.

Yep. Worf's parents were alright. But I always loved Worf's Klingon brother Kurn. Tony Todd make a great Klingon.
@Corellian Жыл бұрын
The Klingons were made as a parallel to the cold war-Soviets in Star Trek VI, so I found it so fitting to make Worf's parents be from a former Soviet state. They still embody old-fashioned "Russian/Soviet" stereotypes of a caring mother with hugs and kisses and a working-class father with pride and handshakes. The same could be true of any ethnic background but here it resonates well IMHO.

Our parents drive us crazy. No matter how old we get, they will never change. Yet, when they leave this mortal life, we wish we could see them just one more time. I will always remember the last times I saw and spoke to my Mom. The last time I saw her was 20 years ago. The last time I spoke to her was 19 years. Cherish your parents, unless they don't deserve your love. Far too many out there that give the title of "parent" a bad name.

I am wondering. There has been a lot of talk about Worf's youth on Star Trek TNG. This was how he grew up on earth with a human family. I had got to thinking that if they want to make a nice new Star Trek episode, they should have it based on Worf's youth, and, like in Young Sheldon, have an adult Worf telling the story of how he was the only Klingon on the planet Earth and how people treated him, and stuff like that. Of course, you would have to have younger actors and actresses playing his parents and a younger Worf, but would that be a good idea?

@kevinhenderson33499 ай бұрын
There's always been speculation about that. Some say that even though he's a senior enlisted man, the Captain gave him a position usually reserved for officers because of his experience. So maybe the pips represent the position more so than his rank. But how Worf's dad knew Miles was enlisted while wearing those pips, who knows 🤔.
