Hey, thanks for the mention! And you said it right too! "Kanukkarhu" is something I used on some outdoor forums I was on at one time. I started a channel as a way to share videos on a forum. (I shut it down when I lost interest in forums.) But the name is actually two names together: "kanuk" is Canadian slang for 'Canadian' (kinda like an American calling himself a "Yank" I suppose) and "karhu" you already know. Its kind of a nickname and my favourite animal (polar bear)... plus I guess I'm kinda bear-like... 😬 The reason I say all that is because your channel, right now, is exactly what I love about KZbin: people from around the world sharing their experiences, ideas, adventures and thoughts. I hate following a channel only to see it become a gear channel and all about selling a product or getting free stuff. So when I listen to you, as a fellow knife and outdoor enthusiast speaking about your thoughts and opinions on knives and stuff, I can relate and I am very interested. Just some encouragement to keep going. Oh, and Canada. Yes. You need to come to Canada. I live within the world's largest population of Finns outside of Finland. I married a Finn (your thoughts and prayers are appreciated! Lol!) and northern Ontario would totally be your jam! But, my friend, Canada is VAST. Like, its huge! Mountains, prairies, bush, farms, three extremely different coasts... So if you come, plan on a loooong trip if you want to see even a slice of it. But yeah, you'd love it here. Finns do really, really well here. Oh, wolves! Dont even get me started on wolves. They eat our pets, roam through our small towns... I grew up on stories of packs following lost hunters. You won't convince me that they'd "never hurt a human." Not the ones we have here. They're HUGE. Coyotes are common enough and can be dangerous, but generally nothing to worry about as a grown @$$ man, but timber wolves are the one animal I do not trust. Little Red Riding Hood knew... 😉😁

Thanx a lot for kind words! Love sharing my thoughts, opinions etc with people with similar interest, these type of things are one of the best things with modern social media world. Also to hear feedback really does inspire to do more, and better! Oh didnt know there was so large Finnish population, wow! Thoughts and prayers are on the way😂. Were on the same boat hahaha(having married a Finn also). Visiting Canada has been my dream as long as I can remember. ( sometimes just so hard to get out of Europe, just always the easy way of vacations with the usual suspects: Italy, Germany, France, Greece bla bla bla or even nearer: Sweden, Norway, Estonia etc.. But Im lucky that my wife is also a Canada fan, so we were actually considering seriously to moving there for a while (both of our works are felxible in that sense). There is just now 10 parts series in Finnish tv of Canada that im watching!

I scouted (hiked) and old river side trail I use to fish many years ago and really felt out of place...I must have passed 30+ yuppie’s and trail runner’s. Sadly your way of life here is quickly diminishing...

Imagine your knife collection in another 20 year’s. The more encounters I have with bears, moose, and cougar etc...the bigger my knives and collection have become. Lol

Your bike scene made me recall an 8 mile round trip from home a few years ago were I had to transport a 30 pound Chinook Salmon home with it’s tail hanging out of my backpack because I didn’t bring a big enough knife to process it down...

It is beautiful there in Finland. I would almost be in heaven as well if I could live there, I would definitely be closer to it.. I also have been drawn to blades my whole life. Mostly full tang hunting bushcraft type knives. I have so far enjoyed watching your channel 👍

Have used this for about one month and liking it more and more. Just yesterday used on fishing trip, fire making (feathers and light batoning) food prep, and opened few fishes. Did fantastically! Probably my sliciest belt knife. Genesis is actually very high on my shopping list for new knives! Have been impressed with LT Wright. Thanx for watching!

Hey mate, have you thought about getting a trail camera to get some footage of the wolves. I find them really fun. About time I did another trail camera footage video. Really loving your channel by the way, great work. Looks like an awesome knife, I too really like everything about Nessmuks except for the tip.

Oh yes, will probably buy one, because we have so much wild animal sightings lately. Only a bear missing from the party as wolfs and lynxes have already been loving to hang around here in our garden😂 Thanx for the compliment, always nice hear, and inspires to keep going!😀

The Bark River Puukko is a great knife too! However, the leather sheath they provide is too short for the knife!
@zdenekbart
@zdenekbart Жыл бұрын
It is not to short. You have to leather form the sheath. Otherwise LT Wright have so much better quality. Bark River have terrible quality control.

Excellent video, thank you! I also have the LT Wright Large Northern Hunter, it's a great knife. Have you tried the Joker Canadiense knife? It's similar to the Northern but with a better handle... I know, I said a better handle... (The $100.00 Joker Canandiense has the most comfortable handle ever designed!)

Haha actually just today was pondering orderin it from Amazon. I have it in my cart. As I wanna try Joker knives, and that one seems nice. Veeery close of ordering it as have gift coupon there also. So dont be surprised if after couple of weeks I do a review if that, lol. I just buy too many knives how can I explain to my wife😂. But yeah, these Canadian belt knife designs are impressing me! Thanx for watching!

@@OldForestBushcraft The handle is absolutely the best handle ever made for a knife and the steel is Sandvik 14c28n which holds a very sharp edge!

I was couple of day visiting my brother in the “big city” (Helsinki), and just came back to home to countryside. And was again reminded that its not a place for me. Though I was born there, we spent all the summers, every single one in the Countryside, either in the archipelago where we our family house. Or in the deep forests of Middle Finland beside two big national parks. I live now in a small village, and from my garden starts one of the biggest wilderness areas of southernmost Finland. And I just couldn’t be happier. Feel privileged that I have work that enables me to live here. This is where I belong. Like the quite from one of my favorite films “I’ll never leave Montana Brother”. “ ‘Il’l never leave Fiskars’ Thanx for taking your time watching, and have a great day!

@@OldForestBushcraftSounds like heaven to me. My wife and I moved to be closer to the grandkids and that's great, but unfortunately we had to sell our little slice of heaven to be able to afford a decent home in this area, where housing prices are much higher. We had purchased 10 acres of forested property in north central Idaho and we were able to camp there a number of times and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. But, alas, it had to be sold. Still, we're having a positive impact on the grandkids and I can be in the mountains in a couple of hours. It's public land, but there's a lot of it, so I can usually find solitude.
