The Northern Hunter series is L.T. Wright’s take on the classic Canadian belt knife pattern and it just might be the most comfortable version of it we have ever held.
The elliptical blade shape that defines this style makes these knives great for more than just hunting and skinning. Use them for food prep, bushcraft, or whittling, and the small version even makes a great EDC!
AEB-L stainless steel provides fantastic toughness and edge stability, holding a great edge without much effort required to resharpen. It is honed by hand to a razor’s edge and at 0.125” thick with a high saber grind, it provides a great cross section of strength and slicing efficiency.
Like all L.T. Wright Knives, the Northern Hunters feature a 90-degree spine for scraping and striking a firesteel. They also feature handles finished by hand to remove any hotspots secured to the tang with a combination of Loveless-style bolts and high-strength epoxy for a lifetime of durability.
The knife would not be complete without a good sheath, and the included JRE Industries leather sheath has good retention and a 0.375” diameter leather loop on the side to facilitate easy carry of a firesteel. Additional rivets allow versatile lashing options. The sheath can be used with the included dangler attachment for drop leg carry. If you prefer your knife to carry higher on the belt, you can remove the dangler, or simply fold it underneath and out of the way.

Thanks for the video! I always appreciate a fellow lover of knives showing capabilities and Brother in the Lord! : ) How dead the stick and type of wood are the two things I notice the most when making feathers. You want it dry and silky. Not flakey. Sounds too dead. May still work; just less workable. I love my LTWK SNH and XLNH. My SNL (3V) is my daily hip knife I use for literally everything and works very well on everything. It is my best apple and steak knife. I just got my XLNH in AEB-L and this bad boy is a Knoife! I also love how versatile it is and can do literally anything (yet, it excels at food/fleshy oriented tasks). My LTWK JX2 Jessmuk is the 1 stick fire pro and I think still takes the cake on any wood craft with its steep scandi, 01 Tool Steel, and how much it wedges. Way sharper spine too. But, when it comes to eating an apple- I would never try my JX2 or JX2 C again 😅. They no longer produce the JX2 but the Designer is working with Work Tuff Gear for a new batch. AEB L is great when sharpening. I think it is my favorite steel personally! (And, I personally own a JX6 II Magnacut) As for my personal favorite hand saw: I own both a Silky Zubat and Samurai. I am Canadian and both my custom designed knifes are based on the D.H Russell. One is the Army 3 and the survival (Canadian Arctic Ranger)#4 I made the design my mate in Nova Scotia made the blade to order. The #3 is 3/16” thick and 4” blade. The #4 is 1/4” thick and 5” long. Both have purple heart wood handles and come in a pistol flap deep sheath that Carrie’s a ferrous rod. Both are meant for different uses but work very well wherever I have hunted/traveled in the world.
