I remember going to the local suzuki shop and buying one with my father with my own money I had saved from a paper route for several years in my youth, that thing was an absolute monster and I have so many great memories riding it, the friendships and stories and absolute crazy shit we did back then. Fantastic machine. Long live the 2 stroke I say

I'd love to own It, in honor of my dad, he rode the piss out of an 86, I was born in 83 and by 87 dad riding wheelies and racing cars on the main highway was everything my hero was, fearless, in 92 it was stolen and never seen again, Rip Pop I miss you more than I can express.peace guys gotta go toss these onions away.

Growing up in wv watching 2 strokes race and fly threw the woods always made me have a passion for building and riding racing quads like this nothing like the smells and sounds they provide also the myth that they don't last ad long is crazy thr rebuild on the 2 or 4 strokes is 100 hrs either way if racing good video buddy make more !! Lol

@@outdoororigins6120 it definitely is I remember back in 1985 when some of the older kids in the neighborhood showed up at my house with a Quad Racer and a quad sport I was blown away. I currently just finished restoring a 1988 Fourtrax 250R which I will never sell but I would love to get a Quad Racer to have both of them together. I like the old school look of the 86 but the 87 and up was such a better machine. The swing arms on the 86 is what crack only after a couple Seasons abuse. the way to tighten the chain on the old school swing arms was brutal. Something about that front grill and headlight in that bright blue so sexy

Nice! Looks alot faster than mine lol.Just bought a 1990, love the thing but it's not hitting pipe. Runs good down low and has impressive lugging power or torque, ordered a new stator and reeds hopefully that fixes it. Also kinda funny, my other quad is a 2007 predator I just noticed you brought up the predator.

I asked this in another video of yours as well how does it do riding slow on trails? I have a 450R Honda right now that doesn't like the chug along it wants to go fast or it gets hot, common problem with these. Also is it fairly easy to get normal maintenance parts for these? I don't want to go on searches for clutches motor parts etc

I answered most of your question on the other comment, you might want to look into a 400 class machine if you're looking to ride slower and find parts easily, neither the quadracer or your 450r are made to go slow, have you tried gearing down your 450r? That would probably help significantly.

@@outdoororigins6120 yeah I have worked into trading down to a 400EX or possibly even a really nice warrior. Gearing was my next option as well.

@@mzondi1970 I would start with gearing down your 450 first, it makes a huge difference in rideability, I would try going down a tooth in the front or up 2 teeth in the rear.

It could be fine as long as they have a good head on their shoulders and know how to respect the power until they get used to it, they're great quads.
