+NICKHAM16 He uses it most of the time, and he's certainly sounded fatter in other videos that had it. How do you figure? I figure that the base amp tone is already pretty tight and dry to begin with. It's sort of how a VHT (Fryette) had to boosted to get a less dry and more greasy saturation going.

The tone in the playtrough after the song was awesome, but I got the feeling that in the song itself the guitar sound was really scooped. It sounded almost like smartphone speakers through my JBL305. Also, on the topic of signature guitars, Epiphone is releasing a Bjorn Gelotte of In Flames Les Paul Custom. I imagine it'll pack EMGs. Would love to see someone review it once it does drop. Only saw a teaser photo of the headstock, with a mother of pearl "JesterHead" instead of the traditional diamond.

Mason Stanley Thanks for the link. Exactly how I pictured the guitar to be. On the plus side, it looks like they equipped it with an ebony fretboard. You don't see that often in the epiphone line. Depending on price, I may pick one up and put some Dimarzio Titans in it instead of EMGs.

How would you compare the fretboard of this guitar to that of a Schecter? Only asking cuz I have demoed a few ESPs vs. a few Schecters andI have personally found the Schecter necks to be smoother to play. Just wondering...

I like your kit-kat death metal riffs! sweet sound as always. You make it sound dark without mud(to my ears). with small earbuds the drums were maybe a 1-2 dB too loud in relation to the guitars.

Ola tries to demo all the amps, guitars, and pickups in his specific tone environment: Feared and The Haunted. Each demo is similar, but there are enough subtle differences that make each video unique. Why would he make a demo sounding like The Beatles if he didn't play them? He wouldn't.

+King Lord Whats your budget? You can usually pick up a 5150/6505 for around $500-700 on craigslist, ebay or the guitar center used site. You can get a used Mesa Rectifier 4x12 for around $500 as well. The combination of those two with an overdrive pedal and a gate will get you pretty much any metal tone out there, or at least really close to it.

+King Lord You can also find some dual rectifiers for about $700 as well. I have personally always leaned more on the 6505 side, but I love the rectifier as well. I feel like the Dual Rectifier is more applicable to genres besides metal than the 6505 is while still being able to do metal very well.
