Hey I saw your videos just at the right time for me to be in the market for keyboards. If I feel like I play mainly RTS, MOBA, and 4x games, should i still consider a HE keyboard? Or are their mechanical ones for similar prices but greater build/software quality outside of the actuation advantages

Adding on, if I do go for HE, should I look at the Euphy Field75 or the DrunkDeerA75 Pro assuming both are in my budget? Do the extra buttons on the Euphy come into play relatively often for productivity tasks?

@lordofthepies your question is literally on my video creation to do list. ✅ If you are mostly playing RTS, MOBA and 4x, it really comes down to whether or not your are playing PVP. If yes, then hall effect keyboards will most likely be helpful. It doesn’t take long to see how responsive these keyboards are in-game. That said, when I jump back into work, I plug in an old school, clicky blue, mechanical keyboard. For long term typing sessions (work, school, email, etc.), I find mechanical switches to be more pleasurable to type on. If you go HE, I’m still torn between NuPhy and Wooting. I love the 80HE RGB, but enjoy the build quality of the NuPhy Field 75HE. I think both are great and if you want to save a few bucks, go with NuPhy. Appreciate the question and let me know what you go with. 👍

PS - I love the handle on the Field75 HE. I use it all the time. 😊

@@mynusten wow, thanks for the clear answer! Im glad to continue following your channel with responses like those. Guess I will take a look at the Nuphy

Switches sound trash like they are dry. The space bar was horrible.

@JFomo LOL...yea, these HE boards really don't sound that great. Relative to good 'ole mechanicals, I have yet to use any hall effect switch that sounds or feels good. Then again, FPS gamers are buying these boards for speed over sound and feel. Appreciate the comment. 👍

@mynusten I need something I can take to the office and flex on my work colleagues. Any recommendations? Something thoccy and lightweight

@@JFomo If you're packing keyboard heat into the office, I'd defo go the mechanical route. HE keybaords by-and-large have terrible sounds and these are gaming-focused, anyways. Clicky blues, nix them, too. Your co-works would probably kick you out of the office with blue switches. 🤣 As for brands and in the $150 to 200 range (need to make a splash), I'd go with either a NuPhy Halo75 or Halo96 (if you need a numpad) or something from Keychron Q1 lineup. If money is no object and this is a throw down, skies the limit and I'd go full custom. You could build a solid keyboard from Glorious on its GMMK3 platform and have it shipped to you for around ~$400. I did a custom build on the GMMK3 years ago and it sounded fantastic. Hope this helps. 👍

@@mynusten to fix this i'll be getting gateron jade pro switches, replacing the springs with wooting's 100g springs, manually lubing the springs. switches and stabilizers, and using Cerakey's Ceramic keycaps.

@@bluephoenix1525 100g switches! Break out the weight training!!! 😃 Do let me know how it goes and curious about the Cerakey ceramic keycaps. Cerakey did reach out to me to review their keycaps and I'm going to see if they are still interested. Will you be putting gaskets in the switches?
