Joe - perhaps the best in-race gravel video I've seen. Great job in the race, capturing it on camera, and taking us along for the ride.

Man, you were still right there. With a field like that, 12th place is very respectable. When every voice over segment of the video starts with "We have some heavy hitters in this group", you were also a heavy hitter. Despite the final miles, you did great! And, great video as a whole. It's always nice to "be in the race", in these videos. Thanks for bringing us along, Joe!

For the Gavel Championships, judges from all across the country gathered to see who could pound the bench harder. It’s the ultimate test of jurisprudential strength! 😁

I knew this was gonna be a great video. I was waiting for you to release it. I was not disappointed. Way to race. I’m proud of you. I know all your peeps are proud of you. Next time you get discouraged think of this race and the race before it. Never give up keep fighting keep training.

Damn dude you are good at recording and editing your races. I bet it's harder than it looks to make sure you record the good parts without nuking your battery.
@jgoettl2.0
@jgoettl2.0 3 күн бұрын
@@graemehill thank you! I did 3 battery swaps. It’s not too hard to change during Luls in the race, and that way I can just let the camera run longer without having to worry about running out of battery as much! Editing is a whole other beast and way more work than you’d think, but I do enjoy it!

Hey! Nice1, cool video on the insiders scoop. Those early moves were always going to be doomed. I wish Chase would get a professional coach with good experience! His got a great engine, just needs to have it firing at key points. Those last few climbs at those distances are brutal. You did very handling damage control, because once you get dropped, most mentally quit. You didn’t , so this year was a huge step up and having followed you for some time now, I feel you are edging closer to that big victory. It will come, If you can hang with the kool kids ( minus flame kit guy)… you will get it! Great production and editing.
@jgoettl2.0
@jgoettl2.0 3 күн бұрын
@@lazlo2511 thanks! In chases own words, he lacks that high end punch, especially uphill, and his big advantage is being crazy aero. Therefore, he’s made it his signature to be a breakaway rider. However, it would be interesting to see him play it conservative once or twice. For myself, I find I’m naturally good at that punch coming from running where my efforts shorter, so it’s typically better for me to stay in the group and ride out the surges. Positioning is also key and being at the front on the first hill and into the MMR road was a big help. Wish I would have known about that sand section as I would have gone straight to the front before that!

Joe, I’m a big fan. You do a great job but your one big weakness is spotting typos. Just have someone review your videos before posting. It’s really hard to catch your own typos.

@@jgoettl2.0 I get my wife to review my stuff before I press go because I always have a typo no matter how many times I reread. Reading out loud seems to help. It slows me down so I don’t blast past mistakes.

Too bad the UCi has never watched an American gravel race. Their European-style gravel "championships" are essentially the same ol' Monuments on mixed surfaces with slightly fatter tired bikes than their road races. SO boring.
