Took years of planning and training (Covid stopped the 1st attempt in 2020 and a collapsed wheel bearing ended my return trip in 2021) but last year I finally bikepacked from my home in Brussels to my in-laws in Sweden and back - 2850Km in 20 days on the bike. Summing up Alex's commitment to Chloe, "How do you convince someone how good they really are?" although I'm sure Chloe understood more and more how good she was as her confidence built though out the course of the day. And Chloe's commitment to Alex? "I couldn't have done this without Alex"... what a partnership in love and life. Firstly, both are SO lucky to have found each other and to be able to share a bonding event like this so early in their relationship. Secondly, look for great things from these guys in so many ways, not just on the bike. THIS is what a partnership for life is built upon! One of the most inspirational GCN videos I've seen, and not just about the bike.

Unfortunately I crashed out 45 km into the 120 km course. I was on the racer's high, passing people and shedding it. Till I slid out in a corner :( But I'm OK and after the bike gets fixed I'll be back. Gravel is the best and you are never too old. I've only been riding gravel 7 months. I will watch for you. Road bike- not gravel bike. But still fun.

Ah man, this was awesome to witness. Seeing Chloe’s growth was an amazing journey. This definitely encourages me to get in on a ride like this. Thanks for sharing your journey, Chloe. And congratulations, you’ve done amazing.

She inspires me that i could do it too, but i think Alex was right that she is better than she knows. Her modesty and humility is what makes her a true champion!

Kudos to Alex for putting his ego in his back pocket and staying with his lady for the entire ride. Much respect! Nice to see his wife overcome and finish.

Kudos to Chloe for pushing through and keeping pace. That wasn't slow. My first big goal was doing a 100K ride and I limped to the finish but still faster than a lot of riders. The finish felt so great to have been able to complete it when you're not feeling it. Cycling is a lot mental strength. You finished strong and should be very proud to have completed it the way you did. You're stronger than you know.

I dont like bike racing nor do I want to be a pro but training for a doing a few races here and there really pushes you in a way that just riding doesn't. Always great seeing someone push them self to a new personal best!
