Sir, this is not Cholesky method. In Cholesky method, we suppose a Cholesky matrix G and take its transpose and equate an matrix A=GGt

What you're talking about is a special case of cholesky method in which if A is postive definate and symmetric matrix then we can suppose a matrix A as product of G with it's transpose. Where G is lower triangular matrix.
