Your review sounds fairly positive. But I have to wonder as impressed with the mower as you seem to be is it now your primary means of mowing the grass? Or did you just do a one off review and it’s not actually the mower that you use all the time now? The reason I ask is I did not have the same performance I bought this mower, and I’m feeling a deep sense of regret. Can’t get the company to reply to me and I’m feeling a little desperate now that I bought it. I wanted this to work out more than anything to mow my yard, but it just sits and spin. I followed all the troubleshooting and set it up in the middle of a clear area, very similar to your set up but it’s not working well at all for me.

I had a robotic lawnmower about 5 years ago. It was the wired perimeter kind and just mowed the yard randomly. The charging base looks about the same as this one. It didn’t completely remove the yard work though. The edging still needed to be done with a weedeater. The grass also grew high around the charging base. That needed to be cut manually to make it look nice. Thanks for the review of this mower. They have really advanced in the past few years.

I help my grandmother mow part of her lawn that is essentially on the side of a mountain (Not a big one but the driveway is technically no longer to code if that gives any indication of how steep it gets in places). I have to be very considerate of the direction I'm driving the riding mower because of the inconsistent slopes, and in some ways it's like using a pickaxe for dental surgery, as there are so many places I need a weedwhacker or push mower. There will come a time I won't be as available to help her out, and although this system is pricy and probably a generation before I'll need one, it's great to know that the technology in general is maturing enough to where I would trust it with a less-tech-savvy family member.

Thanks, a nice review. (And you have a very nice lawn!) A couple of points I'd like to raise, based on this review. It looks like you used the mower once (or a couple of times), and I'm wondering how it works long term. Did it ever stop on a mow and then actually return to the same spot? With another robot mower that I tried, the EcoFlow Blade, it never did return to that spot, instead remowing the mown part first. A real life test would be nice. Did you try spraying it with a hose to simulate rain and see whether it stopped mowing, and then returned to the right spot when the "rain" stopped? I also liked the straight-line mowing, but long-term that can put grooves into the lawn. It would be better if it mowed in alternating directions, NS, then EW, with successive mows. Can it do that? The lack of manual editing of the maps is a real drawback! The Ecoflow had the same problem, if you needed to re-edit the map, you had to run the mower around the area again. A simple point-and-adjust feature in the app, with my finger or a pencil, would greatly simplify editing the maps. A possible future feature? How did it do on the edges? Did you feel the edges were mown well, or did you need to go over them with another mower? If the wheels on the sidewalk or flowerbeds were lower, did it cut the lawn too low there, on an angle? And finally, how does this mower compare to the others out there? You reviewed the Ecoflow, how does it compare to that? Which reminds me, did you buy this for your lawn maintenance, or just trying it out? Thanks for all you do!

@robertrandall8418
@robertrandall8418 11 ай бұрын
It looks like when you did the perimeter, you stayed a few inches away from your flower bed edge. Doesn't that mean you need to go around and manually mow the edge? Also you said the cutting swath is 16 inches. What is the wheel base? I would want a mower that has a wheel base less than the cutting swath so it can overhang to get the edges. If the mower can't cut right up to, and preferably slightly over the edge, then I'm afraid it's a show stopper for me. I have many hundreds of feet of edging. I don't want to have to do all of that manually.

For the price, there are many questions....for example, what is the longevity of the mower ? Will it last 5 or 10 years of regular mowing ? Battery longevity, does it come with a full warranty for at least 3 years if and when issues arise and does it need to be mailed back to the company and will it take weeks for it to be repaired/ returned { im assuming many issues could not be easily diagnosed or repaired by the homeowner/ consumer} How well will the plastic/ exterior hold up to the brutal UV rays/ sun ? Also, one has to worry about theft of the item as it is out cutting the grass and the homeowners may not be home. Alot of variables involved.

Yes, I really love the idea of that system and spoke with them a couple of times on ideas but we haven't quite put anything together yet. But their technology seems good, my only worry is that they need to remain around since their design is specific to them, so long term ownership could be a concern but they seem to be doing well so far

@ 1:52 thru 2:05 you've made a statement that needs some help. The Luba Mowers depend on GPS information from Both the RTK Antenna (Real Time Kinematics) AND the GPS receiver within the mower itself. Both the Mower & Antenna constantly compare GPS signals from the GNSS GPS Satellite systems combined. The GNSS are the combined GPS systems from the USA GPS system, the GLONASS system (Russian), the BEIDOU system (Chinese) and Galileo system (European). Together the GNSS must provide a sufficient signal from at least 20 of the same Satellite signals to both the Mower And the Antenna. Below 20 Sat signals at either the Antenna or Mower and it will stop mowing and give a "Positioning Error" until it re-acquires the 20 Sat minimum. Sometimes it does re-acquire the 20 Sat min, and sometimes not. More on that later. While the mower & Antenna are operating on the min number of 20 GPS Satellites, it's mowing accuracy is 15 cm (6 inches), see pg 17 of the manual. When this Luba Robotic Mower & Antenna are both receiving 29+ GPS Satellites, the mowing accuracy is just 5 cm (2 inches), see pg 16 of the manual. I don't know where this claimed 1 cm of mowing accuracy comes from in this video. The whole point here is careful consideration of placement of the RTK Antenna and the Mapped boundary's you assign to this mower. Most of the YT vid's reviewed by users of this Mower have made the Same Mistakes when setting this thing up. If you make a setup mistake, you could be spending Days redoing the work you've already vested, true story. GPS signals are easily diminished by buildings, trees, fences, power lines, bad weather and a few other things. The GPS signal reductions usually come from the Mowers receiver if the Antenna is placed correctly. I own a Luba 3000 (mows up to 3000 sq meters of lawn & maps up to 6 "Zones"), and spent considerable time watching all the YT vids on this mower I could find before spending $2 Grand on this thing. You can buy a Riding Mower for that money, so depending on what your time is worth, watch some Luba vids on YT and Download the User Manual from the Mamotion website. It will save you Time and Money because No lawn is the same and you'll find answers to questions you might not of thought to ask. Here are some things I'd wished I'd known before purchasing this $2K mower; Hot Tip #1. For those w/ complex landscaping, Trees, flower beds, fences, Kids Swing Sets, power lines, tall structures etc., you will find areas of Low GPS Signal strength (less than 20 Sat's), near these structures. Fear Not, for you can download an App on your Cell Phone called "GPS Test". You can set it up to see Only the GNSS Satellite network and walk the perimeter of your property to check Signal Strength AND how many Satellites are "seen". This step could save you a Lot of time & Expense. Hot Tip #2. Because of GPS Satellite locations, movements around the planet & the tilt of the Earths axis, certain times of the day will consistently have Better GPS Signals than others. So, if you do Test the Signal Strength & number of Sat's available, do so at different times of the day and you Will likely find a "best" time for GPS reception and possibly reduce Positioning Errors. Hot Tip #3. Mamotion offers a Free evaluation service for checking the feasibility of these Luba Mowers on your property. Go to their website Homepage, hit the "Support" drop down menu and select "Get Customer Support". You will be taken to the "Contact Us" page and find another Drop Down menu. Select "Ask more about the Product before buying". Use this page to download screenshots of the Best Satellite Views of your property (Do a search for better Satellite views if you're not satisfied w/ Google Maps), and ask for an evaluation in the text section. 😊 They took about three days to get back to me w/ an evaluation. I'll likely edit this later to be clearer if necessary. Hot Tip #4. If you find you must relocate the RTK Antenna because it's too close to the house or not high enough, then you Must Re-map the mowing areas AND No-Go Zones. Read the Manual on Antenna Placement carefully and save yourself a day or two of additional Time & Labor doing rework. There is the option to Edit existing mapped Mowing Zones if you make changes to the Charge Station location or No Go zones. However, many within these Luba Mower user reviews have made the Antenna relocation and/or Charge Station relocation, then Edited their existing Mowing Zones & No Go areas and then find the mower sometimes reverting back to, or getting stuck in the original mapped Zone. MaMotion is aware of this problem and may provide a software fix. It's suggested that if you relocate the Antenna or Charge Station, then you should Delete the original mapped Zones entirely and start anew to prevent any possible confusion w/ the original mapped areas. This has been reported in several Luba user/reviews, I'm just relaying the info. Good Luck

I have a yard that is around 35 degrees and have always struggled with it. It's only an acre but its too steep to stand on for long, and it has flipped riding mowers, and push mowers. I've actually lost several small engines to it over the years because they always run with oil tilted out of the motors too long. About 1 years use and they would start smoking oil from the exhaust... this may actually be practical for the price if it will just last long enough. Please update us.

well the luba has a max yard size of 5000sq meters and three foot to a meter so 15,000 sq ft that is 1.25 acres so your yard at 2.5 acres you would need two lubas to mow it as far as dog poop it will just run it over if the poop is very large like over 3-6inces high luba might think its a rock and go around it mind you one luba is about $3000

Both excellent machines. Big differences are Blade maxes at .75 acres. Luba can do 1.25acres. Blade isn't AWD but does handle typical slopes, but Luba can handle crazy steep slopes, if you have them. Blade has a bagging system Luba does not. Blade can cut at up to 4 inches Luba maxes at 2.8. Both have great cut quality but the AWD is probably the biggest difference but cut height will be a deciding factor for some too. Not a simlle decision but you won't go wrong with either

That is a good point, I didn't have a lot of details on what they are using inside. Out of the box, this was the best mower I have reviewed to date for rough lawn and slopes. Price is competitive and compared to he Ecoflow blade it can handle for space and slopes. The blade can cut at 4" though and has a bagger but is rated for only up to 3/4 of an acre. So there are so pros and cons to both mowers but for me my slopes are so bad along the edges of the lawn I could only use a Luba here

The Ecoflow doesn't have AWD and has a smaller cutting deck. But it does high cut at 4" and has an optional bagger. So those are huge pluses, but if you have a larger lawn and have slopes the Luba would be a better choice, but you are limited to 2.8 inches. Honestly both models are pretty awesome but those differences could be a factor.

@@markkempton4579 I definitely was a bit far out when I traced the map.
