This is going to be so cool. I'm hoping we get some Somnovum and Betrayer God Cult stuff. I think Dancer is a grave robber/ archeologist, not an immortal. Devexian Watch begins now. Fearne's parents could be anywhere in the timeline given the weird relationship the Faewild has with time but I think they were exploring the ruins rather than visiting the still-living city.

The one most likely to be seen in campaign 3 is Cael Morrow which is beneath Ank'Harel. It could be the same one due to its name being lost to time per the Call of the Neatherdeep book but I doubt We hear Averil in the main campaign.

Wait though! I don't think that's the opening of thr show, Aabria says "you're too cool for what just happened" and Lou points to the ground and says "we were going fast, you said fast!" I think he said "we were down there and now where here!" Or something to that effect. What if they are there for the destruction of Aeor? And that could be episode 1 and the rest of the episodes are like the fallout of the calamity?

I'm sceptical that we'll see any FCG stuff because it would be kinda crazy for it to come out on a mini campaign before its been revealed in C3. I am fully convinced that there is a fallen floating city in Marquet and Avalir is it. Bells Hells have gotta get their Spelljammer some how. I doubt we will be seeing Dancer because I am preetty sure Matt confirmed that she had build FCG about 4 years ago or some in a recent CR episode (22??) I DO think we'll be seeing a pre-mind wipe FCG though. Because i could see Sam doing that to us. Marisha let slip on her Instagram take over that Laura was supposed to be in EXU Calamity but scheduling conflicts kept her from going forward with her. Her character was in really early stages of development so Marisha iterated her character based on what Laura had started. ALSO they were filming the Finale until 2:30 Wednesday Morning according to Brennan so I think we're in for a treat.

Great quick summary of the history leading up to the Calamity. Super excited about this show and cast. I think there is a good chance the city is the one the Bell's Hells stumbled upon. I think there might be easter eggs for all three campaigns (at least I hope so!). Maybe we will see automatons like FCG if we don't see FCG (and of course they wouldn't have that name even if we see them). Whatever the case, thrilled about this series. Great video Luna!

For anyone interested in playing in/around the Big Event in a setting, but don't want to make your own, it's worth checking out Eberron. Sure, the Big Event already happened, but it was only two years ago. The world is still reeling from it happening. There was another Big Event tens of thousands of years ago on another continent, but that continent is also still feeling those effects. Another option is Dragonlance. The new adventure is set during the War of the Lance, a massive change in the world, and has the players taking part in those events.

I feel like FCG was an ordinary Aeormaton that was either copied by a pre-calamity Marquesian city, or was sent to a pre-calamity Marquesian city by the people running Aeor, either to help the city or to flex "look at what we can make." FCG "died" in the calamity and over 1,000 years later they were found by Dancer, or repaired them to the best of her abilities, which could explain why FCG has not been described as having the chest crystal that Devexian had, has a different body structure as Aeormatons were described as bipedal, is vastly different to descriptions of all constructs as modern Exandria knows (including Dancer's), and has very little memory of what's happened before C3. FCG has described Dancer's constructs as having 1 particular use, like Oatmeal (I think it was Oatmeal) was for cutting firewood. Whereas FCG has their brand of magic and the several attachments that they can replace, showing that FCG has more than one use/no specified use which doesn't align with Dancer's other constructs, at least what little we know of them. So that's my TED talk on why FCG was not built by Dancer, only repaired to the best of her abilities.

I gotta say watching them release the cast list for this series I really got the feeling of like when you see two friends you didn’t know were friends hanging out and it makes you so happy. Literally seeing Lou Wilson and Travis together is the best thing in the world. On top of that we get Sam, Aabria, and Brennan. I’m not familiar with Louis but I’m sure that just like Aimee or Robbie they will fit right in. Also Dimension 20 is so chaotic and comedic compared to Critical Role but the moments of drama and role play that I’ve seen Lou and Brennan do makes me so excited to see them doing an apocalypse/Rogue One we all die story.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the Calamity wasn't a single event, it went on for a loooong time, like over a century. Halas was born *during* the calamity; Aeor had fallen before him, his home was the still-floating city of Ziedel, and he was trapped in the ball before the divergence at the end of it all.

I think whether or not we see Aeormatons depends on what Exandrian floating city EXU: Calamity's set in. If it's not Aeor, then we're not going to get Aeormatons. We might get automatons of some sort that are similar, but they wouldn't be the same exact type of beings. For example, I'm pretty sure Draconia was one of the pre-Calamity cities, too--just one that managed to survive--and we know very little about that city. Matt's also said there were a lot of floating cities all over Exandria, so for all we know, they could be in Isilra (sp?) or Tal'dorei or Marquet, not just Wildemount's continent.

theories: 1) yah.. I can see that. 2)I don't think we are going to explore FCG's possible pre-calamity past without that being revealed and explored in the main campaign, so... I doubt this as it would also create a bunch of expectations on FCG "regaining his apparently lost abilities" (if we hold theory 1 as true). 3) if dancer is an eomaton, then maybe 4) seems like a reach.. I am thinking more about Vasselheim being the theatre of operation. 5)possible... he might even be Dancer. 6).. yah.. that seems reasonable.. I thought much of the same. 7) I don't see it.. it would be either a throwaway moment or something integral to the plot to which however none of the characters present at the event would have any real connection to.... and it would set up limitations for Ashley's character or reveal her parent's wereabouts, which I see more likely to be explored in the main game, since it's the reason Fearne is in the prime material to begin with. 8) could be. 9) nah.. if anything, that's yet another reason for me not to think Aeor will be where the action's at. it crosses too many paths and might pur BLM in the position to have to make a lore call that might end up retconning some of Matt's canon stuff.. and I doubt that would happen. We KNOW what happened to Aeor.. but if these high level characters were to find an unforseable way to fix events in a different way, then we would find ourselves with different timelines to manage in the campaign 2 timeline...and if they are unable to fix events any differently, then the whole game is on rails, and nobody likes that idea. I think that the events will be of smaller scale than one that might impact directly events from either of the later campaigns... there will be no stepping on butterflies that might cause the premises to any of the 3 campaigns to not exist in the first place.. so, no Emon, no Aeor, no direct overlap... the only constant we have is that Vasselheim was and is the enduring cradle of civilisation... there is mention of a dark plot in a city... it stands to reason that that plot would be occurring in Vasselheim and that, if the cast fail to counter the plot, Vasselheim might suffer a (in the long run) non fatal blow... and that that blow might precipitate the calamity... whereas if they beat the baddies, they might alter the story of how the calamity went down or indeed be instrumental in securing that Vasselheim survives it.

Seeing as all the EXU episodes have had something to do with the current campaign I’m gonna say the city is the one that’s in the jungle they passed, there will definitely be a throwback to FCGs creation, I have a tingle that there will also be a throwback to the vestige that Opal currently has possession of as well. It will be curious to see if there is some sort of Ruidus connection in the story too…like it’s origin and if it resulted from the calamity

Crazy Guesses: Aabria is playing the mortal who would later become The Raven Queen. If we were EVER going to find out who she used to be, this would be a prime opportunity. Sam is playing FCG or the mortal whose soul would be put inside FCG. I supplement this by saying that I don't believe that the events involving FCG's party dying was 4 years ago, I think it's the last thing they remember when Ashton found them 4 years ago. Their memories are a huge mess so a lot of things could be bleeding together. Alternatively, those things DID happen in the last few years because Dancer and her crew were in one of the stasis bubbles, woke up, and immediately went to work. One of the characters, non-villain NPC probably, will be pre-Lichhood Vecna

I'm 100% on the tinfoil hat train that we will see the mortal form of Vecna because that's my biggest dream out of all this. When it comes to the Raven Queen, as much as I want that to happen as well, she's already a God at this point. Her famous ascension is what led to Vespin seeking out the Betrayer Gods' power in order to ascend himself, which caused the calamity. Although on a similar note, I'm really hoping that not only will we get to see pre-ascension Vecna, but one of the cast members will be playing him

The Calamity started after the Raven Queen became a god. The guy that started the events that later became the Calamity did it by being inspierd by the Raven Queen so sadly that is imopsible.

We have one point saying he achieved lichdom 100 years before the calamity, then another saying his first attempt at godhood was some 200 years *after* the calamity. So he could be around, though maybe not quite "mortal".

HOPING we'll meet or see aeormetons *similar* to FCG though, my theory is still that Dancer scavenged the parts for her aeormeton team from pre-calamity ruins, and according to wiki (netherdeep spoiler?) the ruins underneath Ank'harel called Caer Morrow is such a place, though i cant find anything about wether it's a crashed floating city or not. Maybe we'll see some aeormatons that are identical to FCG from the waist up, just with actual legs, or whatever else he might have looked like before he was put together and repurposed by Dancer. If Caer Morrow and Avelir turns out to be the same though, perhaps one of the guest stars from EXU:C will appear later in campaign 3 as a time-bubbled potential ally that Bells Hells can find later...🤔
