Wow Lyubo, the view at 0:33 with the beach and the low sun and with you looking into the ocean is just amazing. As a Norwegian I'm kind of used to great views and beautiful landscape however seeing it in videos is always so cool. Fantastic production quality. Hey, Yes I think that's true. Earlier that day I passed by the Munken area and there were the Munkebu cabins, which other hikers had already booked, and I am guess it would be something similar with the locked cabins where I stayed that night.. It would have many a huge difference staying inside that night with the rain..

A wonderful video and trip. I've been thinking of hiking in Lofoten, and this makes me definitely want to do it. I was wondering, though, what food do you use for cold soaking? I've been trying different things at home, but I haven't found anything I can eat a lot of (to get enough calories when backpacking).

Thank you, I'm glad it was inspiring! Well, regarding cooking, I am not very picky, so I can usually eat similar things most of the days, I would usually have oats with nuts, dried fruits, sugar, protein powder; then for snacks I would have a variety of bars, nuts and raisins, cranberries; and then for dinners it would usually be either couscous or noodles with TVP, peanuts, coconut flakes, and some kind of sause can add a lot to the taste. Best of luck on your future hiking trips!

Good on you for turning back while you still had fun 😌 and that you've taken that rest day after the night at the cabin, that looked so nasty. love the video, your shots are amazing as always. Honestly it's so good it could do without the drone. I'm often conflicted when it comes to using them since it's very loud and disruptive to wildlife and I'm glad many national parks are starting to ban them but often I can't deny that they elevate a video. You put up the camera so well, I didn't even miss it though. Love your narration as well :) I'm excited to see where you take us next!

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! Yes, I was definitely surprised with the conditions on that trip. Having a van or a campervan while being there would have helped to make the experience more enjoyable :) And yes, no drone flying in the national parks, but I agree when used sparingly drone shots can add another dimension to the visuals. Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed watching it! And yes, well spotted - I did shoot in Slog3 picture profile, however on this hike I didn't use ND filters and just closed down the aperture and tried to keep the shutter speed below 1/100. I had used ND filters in the past but the ones I had were pretty bad (VNDs from K&F concept) and they added too much color shift to the image, that I decided not to use them... what has been your experience with NDs so far? And cheers to Chris @gratefulhike :)
@VadrouillesAttentives
@VadrouillesAttentives Жыл бұрын
@@luboyanev I am not super experienced with ND filters, but I've recently learnt that variable ND filters are actually not ND filters but made of two polarising filters, hence the color shift.

Thank you for the inspiration. I like your shots and the storytelling! I wonder how you managed to pack everything in only one backpack? Is this a hand luggage-sized backpack or a check-in bag? I struggle to fit everything in my 40l backpack (including hiking poles which are not allowed as carry-on)
@luboyanev
@luboyanev 10 күн бұрын
Hey, thank you and I'm glad it was inspiring! I would usually just fly as a carry-on, trying to compact everything as much as possible. And so far, I have had only one issue with the trekking poles where they told me that I had to check them in, and that was flying out of Corsica. All other flights I didn't have issues with them in the hand luggage. But one time before also on my trip to do the Chaminix to Zermatt, with my other friends we had one duffel bag as a checked bag for our treking poles and other items, and the rest as hand luggage. Hope that helps and happy hiking!
@marcotravels
@marcotravels 10 күн бұрын
@@luboyanev I got another hiking backpack from Decathlon that I would put as check-in luggage with the poles so that worked for me. I did not want to risk paying extra at the airport to check in the bag for the slightly oversized backpack and the poles being a potential weapon. I had a great trip with warm and sunny weather and managed to visit some of the places you showed in the video including swimming naked at Kvalvika Beach😁 Especially helpful were the tips on how to get around (bus, hitchhiking, ferry) as a solo hiker. Very nice video! I went to Lofoten last summer, and had a quite similar experience as you - the rainy and stormy weather made me decide to cut the trail short. Also, it was more technical than I expected, and my knees was struggling to keep up. I have also seen you video on GR20. How would you say the two trails compare? :) 🗻
@luboyanev
@luboyanev Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes actually most of the people I met that were dong the same route, due to weather had also made changes to their trip, cutting it shorter or skipping sections. And comparing it to the GR20, I had perfect weather for the entire trip on Corsica (maybe I was lucky, as I have seen other people experiencing tons of rain). I would say the trail on GR20 was also pretty rugged and rocky, but at least it wasn't wet and boggy. On Corsica I also had some problems with my knees because most of the days I was covering two stages in one day and from all the hard surface my knees were starting to hurt towards the end of the day. But overall I had more pleasant experience on Corsica, and great views there too... Happy hiking

Is there a real way from munkebu top to the ferry? Can you explain where did you go?
@luboyanev
@luboyanev 7 ай бұрын
Hey, yes there is, but there is a section where the trail is a bit harder to follow. It goes from Munkenby towards west for about 1km and then north, on this section there is a regular trail towards Lofoten's tallest peak, but then it splits between the lakes Krokvatnet and Tennesvatnet and drops down to Forsfjorden. Then I'd recommend checking out the ferry if you can catch it right down there when you drop to the water. In my case I walked further to get the ferry from Vindstad. Allow for it to take little longer than usual walking on that trail as there was some rock hoping and trail finding (especially for me in the rainy weather). I'd recommend getting the gpx track for the entire trail (the long crossing of Lofoten) and that should make it easier to follow. Best of luck!

Наистина уникално място е, заслужава си да се посети, но може би с каравана би било по ползотворно :)

Great video but I’m really disappointed, you didn’t show a Bulgarian flag at any point. 😢

As Reinhard Messner famously said when asked why he didn’t wave the Italian flag on an 8000 meter peak- “ I did it for myself, not for Italy” I don’t really see the point of all the wave flagging anywhere, aren’t we all just humans after all?

Thank you for the comment, and I understand what you mean, but so far I have never carried a flag with me on any of the hikes. Maybe if I went on an extreme expedition where no one has ever been there before it might be more appropriate, but these hikes that I have been on are quite popular and I wouldn't think would be necessary.. But to each their own.. Happy hiking!

The view is beautiful, but unfortunately the narrator is too noisy, I recommend a quiet hike, people prefer to immerse themselves in nature rather than listen to people making noise.

Hey, sorry for your experience.. most of my hiking videos have narration to help with the story telling. Maybe in the future I could do silent films, and that would definitely speed up my editing process, but so far I enjoy putting in more work and adding narration..
