This brew group unit is identical to what's currently being used in the Philips LatteGo 4400 series (and likely the 3x00, other 4x00, and 5x00 units). I believe the Philips are made by Saeco which also makes the Gaggia? I used these instructions for my Philips LatteGo 4444. Thank you for the detailed demonstration!

Thanks for this informative video! The manual for my unit only lists the two guides and the pin as lubrication areas. My Accademia 2022 came with a liberal coating of lube on the yellow cylindrical connecting brace that spans the two halves of the portion of the assembly that slide up and down the guides (i.e. the portion utilized to actuate the group in this video with a finger). It is not a bearing surface that touches or rubs against anything so that was a mistake at the factory. It's always a good idea to check *anything* mechanical that you purchase new for incomplete lubrication instead of waiting for the first scheduled maintenance. In my case it was overlubricated. 😂 Not technically bad, but it was collecting grounds that would never come clean during the weekly rinse. Obviously somebody at the factory who did not understand the actuation of the group was tasked with lubrication. I also see that the circular tapered seat you mentioned to lube was dry on mine. What's worse is that it lines up vertically very poorly when my door closes. The mating portion on my door has already formed a fair amount of plastic chafing after only 80 cups. Not worth sending back as it appears to be a design issue (hinges are fine/door doesn't say). A thin layer of lube in that area should help the longevity of mine. 👍🏻

In the manual, Saeco only says to lube the shaft and guide rails and not to move it into the working position, but I guess it doesn't hurt to move it and lube the yellow plastic, as well. I've found important to clean out the small black plastic pan (called #33 "coffee residues drawer"; not the large drip pan) underneath the brew unit and clean that out as it will clog the little hole and not allow waste water to get to the drip pan and then leak on to your counter.

from my experience only thing you should lubricate is that spindle that was shown on the last minute of the video, because not lubricated it can stuck on rinse or americano water step (when there is no coffee which pushes it down), so water will not come out.

Thanks for great vid. I had a problem where the machine stopped working and showed an error code "2". The manual carefully explains code "1, 3, 4, 5" but nothing about "2". I did all the lubing you showed and it still showed the same error. After lots of listening to the clicks and clunks I decided that it was at the point of grinding that is all went pear shaped. I increased the size of the grind to the most course and hay presto it is working. I think there was a foreign body in the coffee beans and it wedged into the grinder and stopped the motor turning. I have had this problem in the past with dedicated grinders. don't normally use Costa beans and will now keep my distance. Good luck all.

Just make sure to get the two slides and the pin as per the manual and you should be fine. Those are the areas with the most friction. You do NOT need to actuate the assembly to lubricate the group. That just aides those who are interested in the operation because generally any moving part or bearing surface/guide can benefit from lube. So seeing parts in motion and noting where they "rub" can assist with your educational journey. But don't sweat it.
