I had to play a version of this for my computer class back in middle school. The people who had the highest revenue won a prize. I won by filling each glass of lemonade with, like, *2000* pounds of sugar or something. I'm pretty sure all of the customers got diabetes afterwards.

I'm so glad the Childhood Games series has made a return. Some games I know so I can relive the experience of those games and some I don't so I get to experience something new. I love how the game tells you that other business' sales don't affect your business and then immediately afterwards tells you that their sales really _do_ matter since you're competing against them for best business. Also, that isn't no damn box. It's a birthday cake.

I actually used to play a browser-based version of this game when I was in school, sometime in the late '90s! It was basically the same, except it had rudimentary graphics for people passing the lemonade stand and buying lemonade. It was always a blast.

My high school's business class used this game to teach his Intro to Business class how marketing and revenue management worked. They then did a real life version with candy over the course of a week. I remember one of the groups lost because the morons ate their own candy and just paid for the "product" they were selling. Looking back on it, this was just as much a lesson in dealing drugs as it was building a business model lol.

Thanks for showing us Lemonade Stand! I've never played the Apple II version but I did play the version on the Commodore 64. I actually enjoyed it. I believe the version I played allowed you to decide how sweet the lemonade could be. It's awesome seeing these old games from the late 1970's. I actually remember games from that era since I was born in 1970. Games back then were very basic and simple due to technological limitations at the time. But we loved those games - video games in general amazed us because it was all new and unique. I hope more older games get featured. I'd like to see actual arcade games from the "golden age" of video games such as Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Galaga, Centipede, etc.

lol I played a "modern" version of this when I was in elementary school! That would've been around 2005-ish? It had a street that your stand was next to, that had little people walking along, and once you had put a lot of money into advertising a tiny mob would be crowded around your stand.

Ahhh, that checkerboard cursor takes me back, as do the lo-res graphics. One game on the apple that held my attention a lot was called Taipan, I think. I used to play a flash game in middle school that was probably based on this game. I think it was even called Lemonade Stand. The only difference was you got to decide how much lemon, how much sugar, and how many ice cubes you put in your lemonade and you had to find the perfect amount. Plus, you have to go to the store to buy cups, lemons, sugar, and ice cubes without going broke. Then at the end of the day, all the ice cubes melted so you had to judge that as well. I remember me and some people I went to school with would spend all of class playing it trying to get the most money. Actually, after a quick Google search I found it. www.coolmath-games.com/0-lemonade-stand
