So far all of your videos seemed to be geared around proving that weapon shield is the best lubricating CLP. With that said I'm sold on that aspect of the product. What I would like to see in the future are some tests that show Weapon Shield's cleaning and anti-corrosion capabilities.

they should give the other oil to warm up as well , when they used the weaponshsield it took awhile since the load was applied slowly allowing the oil to heat up. but the other oil instantly 5 lbs this test has been used all over the oil industry you can look it up another snake oil if you ask me

Lucas has a higher temp resistance that I've seen. it stays on my handgun barrel even after 400 rounds at the range, the red oil slings just a bit but the new blue stuff stays where you apply it. I use both of these products, the Lucas oil and I use weapon shield grease on my handgun rails. I just ordered some Lucas extreme duty grease to see if I like it more. Both products have been great so far. Just to say it be careful where you apply grease, it can get more debris and cause wear marks faster. I use only oil on my AR's and my CZ Scorpion.

+Alec U I have seen people using grease for their sliding parts without issue, the trick is to use much less than you would with oil because grease sticks to the parts you are using. From what I have seen, even after thousands of rounds the some parts look factory fresh when using grease and/or oil. The real problem is knowing how to apply.

If I am not mistaken, Lucas uses 15% ZDDP as the anti-wear addative. That is a TON of ZDDP. I figured it would do better, honestly. But I'm not a tribologist.

I've been using Weapon Shield oil for about the past 9 months and it's my favorite oil by far. I just got a small container of the grease also which I'm very impressed with and it will last me a VERY long time. It feels like I've tried "the best" of the oils and greases available but I'm sticking with Weapon Shield hands down.

I don't see a comparison of Weapon Shield against Ballistol. Can I use Ballistol to clean and Weapon Shield CLP to lubricate afterwards?
@tanakattack59659 жыл бұрын
i'm torn between your product and the lucas extreme duty. It's obvious your product is better when it comes to lubrication in a concentrated area where pressure is increased, but is that much lubricity necessary when used on firearms? Say if i was using weapon shield on an ar15, there is metal on metal contact, however the pressure between the two metals don't really increase in the way that your tests show. The one thing that the lucas extreme duty does that caught my attention is its ability to stick to exactly where you put it. It's thick and sticky enough to stay exactly where its applied to the point where if you turn a BCG or something vertically, nothing would drip off of it. Frank Proctor showed this on his channel demonstrating the product. My concern with weapon shield is that it seems to have a thinner viscosity and i don't want a product that gets sprayed out when i shoot my rifle, which is what happens with other types of lube/CLP.

+tanakattack I've played with the Lucas Extreme. It's a good product. However, what breaks on an AR? The bolt lugs, typically (if anything). But if you had to pick ONE thing to put money on "breaking" on a quality AR, most people would bet on the bolt lugs. Where do they break? Well, typically right at the juncture of the lug, and the bolt, toward the rear. Why? Axial torque and pressure on said lug. So if you reduce axial friction, theoretically, you enhance bolt lug life. This can be seen with .mil testing during the MK18 T&E's.
@tanakattack59658 жыл бұрын
+jwg223 I don't get it lol. I already know bolt lugs are a common breakage point. I always assumed it was due to the round going off and the 55,000 psi of pressure repeatedly beating on the bolt was what caused the lugs to break off eventually.

Is there a video where to use Weapon Shield first. Just to see any damage done to a new bearing?

I have weapon shield and it is surprisingly (well not surprisingly, I've seen the reviews) slick. After seeing this I am curious how a "Tacky" Weapon Shield will preform overall. Probably less as Weapon shield, from what I see, protects by being "slick" (Meaning it protects by preventing anything from sticking to it). Though this is probably comparing apples to apples but I am curious how weapon shield Grease will stand up to the competition.

ordered some from amazon but I think prolong would do better on this particular test not saying I would use it on a gun but I'm starting to think it might work pretty good mixed with a bit of oil

can you make a test using your product which looks very promising by the way, and Real Avid's Zipmax CLP?

My former company that I started and owned (MPC) used to package for MotorKote. ProLong was lays a coat-tail product that brought out knock offs about 6 months after we did. I started it all in 1986 when I made the breakthrough in controlling halogenation and preventing corrosion. weaponshield.com/technical.htm Read my paper "Boundary Film Lubrication thought Advanced Halogenation Techniques" that I wrote and published in 1990 that describes in general the mechanism of operation.

Ordered a kit from Amazon the other day...in large part because a few years ago you sent me a sample of the CLP just for asking. I have used it here and there but I'm all in now and eager to see if this is as good as you advertise.

+Weaponshield Hi sir. I ordered some of your product and as far as I can tell it's doing a great job. Had a question in regards to cleaning. I shot about 100 rounds of various defensive ammo through a Mossberg 590. Went to clean it with pre-soaking with Break Free CLP, ran a soft copper bristle brush through it, ran some soaked CLP patches and bundled up blue shop towels and then finally a 12 gauge bore snake and then lastly a dried buffing stick. The barrel still looked like it had some baked on residue. I got two patches, ran it through a jag, soaked in in WeaponShield and basically mopped the barrel and TONS of crap/carbon was on the patch. So much stuff left behind even after quite a bit of work prior. What is it about your product that can seemingly lift this stuff out of the barrel that CLP with rubbing, scrubbing and mopping couldn't get. I have seen this phenomenon with CorrosionX which is my favorite anti-rust oil (but I don't think it has any anti-wear, high pressure additives).
