Lucas is such a class act. Any hack with an opinion can soapbox about it, but he does a great job of presenting foods and cultures with respect and nuance without bashing folks over the head with a particular viewpoint, while still being honest and thought-provoking. It's a great way to encourage people to be curious and explore the world, and hopefully become wiser in the process.

It's hard not to mention politics with what we're seeing under the current U.S administration, and this is coming from an Independent. The fact is, one side (Republicans) always want to get political, even when it's not called for, and they're praised for doing it. When we have the Democrats or Independents bring up political issues, they're told "this is not the time" among many other excuses, even when the situation calls for it like in this case.
