And I think the criticism towards Abrams is kind of ridiculous. He made a Star Wars movie that was true to the original, while simultaneously being a new story for a new generation. It may have utilized plot elements from the original Star Wars movie, but it was done in tribute to a classic film.

Jar Jar abrahms doesn't know how to make a good story, TFA was a complete copy off ANH, which abrahms admits. One of the best parts that the audience typically misses is that Matt is wrong when he says Da Vinci didn’t go back to the Mona Lisa. He worked on the Mona Lisa for over 15 years and only technically finished it because he died while still working on it.

0:55 actually a very good summery of George Lucus's career. The man tore through Hollywood flipping everything off with both fingers. He never joined the director's Guild and filmed most of his movies abroad to completely ignore the whole Hollywood system. After A New Hope he pretty much financed all the other movies he made himself and refused to let anyone compromise his vision. For good or ill, the man could never be stopped.

and we saw what happened when that got removed, inconsistent plot lines, zero grasp of physics, deteriorating combat, and the complete reversal of the effects of the original trilogy, even if not all his ideas are good, star wars needed a strong hand at the wheel, not three screeching lunatics yanking the wheel away from each other, as Darth Marr once said "the force is a paradox, it destroys it creates, it binds the galaxy together and tears people apart, it has a will but needs a commander"

Some people found the Gungan speech pattern annoying. He's perfectly fine as comic relief, but my personal problem with him is that as a character, in the Phantom Menace, he was just overused. Every single scene he was in he had to be clumsy and mess something up, be given General status despite everyone knowing his clumsiness (and being banished for wrecking Boss Noss's personal transport) where his clumsiness still works wonders. Had he not joined Qui-Gon and Padme on Tatooine he would not have been overused. But because he had been, his antics got really old, really fast.
