Like Doctor Who, it needs a long hiatus and then a complete purging of all the people involved with it right now and then bringing in people who love the franchise and can write good stories (they are out there). Will it happen? Probably not since if Disney's not putting out Star Wars content, they're not getting ROI on their investment.

@@archstanton9073Disney on net has never made money from Star Wars. Disney Plus is 10 billion dollars in the hole and NEVER MADE MONEY. It's a zombie project funded by debt. Solo lost money and Rogue One doesn't even offset it. The sequels had 4.5 billion at the box office which sounds like a lot but ~50% goes to theaters so that's only 2.25 billion to Disney. Next, each movie cost 300 to 400 million to make and ~200 million to advertise. This is up to 1.8 billion for costs. Overall, this means Disney made about .5 billion from the sequels. Even if we up this to 1.5 billion to give them a buffer then this is still WAY SHORT of the 4 billion Disney spent to buy Lucas Films from Lucas. The Galactic Star Cruiser Hotel has lost 1 billion dollars. The Star Wars theme park expansions that cost billions have not had much foot traffic. Merchandise is selling less now than it did before the sequels and lots of merchandise was made in high numbers causing MASSIVE losses. A lot of it ended up in clearance bins or wasn't sold at all. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney on net lost on merch. Ahsoka had a cost of 200 million and 50 million in advertising. If it caused 1 million people to buy D + for three months, then this is only 42 million dollars in revenue. This does not cover advertising costs. I quit D + because Ahsoka was so bad. A lot of people did. Star Wars has not been in theaters since Solo because they KNOW they will lose money. They may not get to theaters again. The Rey movie likely won't happen. Kennedy has wanted to make a Rey movie since 2019 but Disney keeps running the numbers and testing the audience. The Star Wars audience HATES the idea. I doubt Filoni will get a season II of Ahsoka and if he gets a movie it will BOMB. Ahsoka was the last straw for many people after Bobba Fett, Mando S3, and Kenobi bombed. Andor was decent but it did not have high viewership. Disney lost 1 billion dollars in the box office in 2023 alone. Disney stock is down 61% from its height. 2024 is going to be worse for Disney as we already know what's coming out (it's not a lot and a lot is getting delayed). Disney production costs are also eye wateringly high, and way outpace many other studios. Contrast this to Marvel that made 30 billion in the box office and Marvel was bought for 4 billion. More movies were made but they still had a production cost of less than 10 billion. The good movies in the MCU between 2008 to 2019 made Disney lots of money. Disney went really WOKE starting around 2018ish and very far into it during the me-too movement in 2019.

@@dcmastermindfirst9418 No, I haven't. I was one of the very few that knew Disney buying Star Wars was the worst thing to happen to my beloved franchise all the way back in 2012. The only good thing to come out of Disney Star Wars in my opinion is Rogue One and I feel that was by mistake. It actually respected the OT and added context to the state of the universe. That movie is how you utilize a female lead and a "diverse" cast the proper way without bashing your audience in the face with it. Everything else they've produced is not canon.

In regards to the animated content, I can still sit through Bad Batch (finished TCW, haven't watched Rebels and will definitely not watch Young Jedi Adventures. You have to torture me before I watch that thing). There's still a little bit of that SW feeling left in it and it's easier on the eyes compared to the live-action shows. After I finish Bad Batch, and maybe get around to Rebels (and a few select episodes of Visions), that's all. No more Dick-Wars. Edit: I'm still trying to finish my review of Ahsoka, episode 7.

If Daisy Ridley wanted to play a Jedi she should start working out right now. May be more agility focused, like flips and bending around. She doesn't need a six pack for this kind of a role, of course she doesn't have to beat her stunt double, but she needs to have "confident physicality". She's not supposed to be an awkward padawan but a master, and mastery over her mind and her body can't be fixed in post production. Her casting is equivalent to casting an awkward, scrawny, technically inept man as John Wick and then cutting action sequences to somehow make his bumbling seem competent.

Republic Commando and KotOR are in my OG xbox collection from childhood, and my Steam AND Nintendo libraries, just so that I always have a way to play. I have a legit Pazaak app on my android backup phone to just play Star Wars blackjack sometimes 😂 The prequels, for all their faults, have given us some of the most memorable characters in science fiction, and some of the most universally understood and chuckle-inducing memes of our generation the world over.
