AND the bombs were small enough that more of them would have found their target if the bombers just pointed their bomb bays towards the enemy from the safety of their fleet and just "dropped" them towards the bad guys. Or, maybe instead of bombers, the capital ships just used gauss launchers to fling the bombs at the enemy. Some of them may have been intercepted and some of them may have hit enemy fighters before hitting the capital ship, but that's still a win. More of them would have ended up hitting the enemy ship than did with that stupid bomber sequence.
