As I own 7 Grecos, Im a maniac of these jewels. the Greco logo in the headstock is real Abalone, the neck inlay real Mother of Pearl, the bridge was a real ABR with the thread directly secured directly into the wood. All these guitars are 100% Nitro. You got a great guitar there but if you find any from 1980/1983, those are the best ever! 1 piece Solid body with mahogany neck. Thank you for the video

Are they heavy weights? A lot of the late '70's LP's I'm seeing are over 10lbs. I'm assuming the late'80's LP's are lighter, 8-9.5lbs.

Do you know if the greco eg 800b from 76 would be any good? Currently looking at 1 and unsure if I wanna buy

This is built just like my 1980 Aria Pro II LS-600 (Matsumoku). The bridge has the same mounting system as the ABR-1 style. The threaded shanks are directly into the body, that’s how they were on old Gibsons.

It's tough to beat Japanese craftsmanship, especially from that era and their building philosophy. I'm currently playing Japanese Tokai LP copies. Nice score!

Great video! I love these guitars, personally. BTW, the headstock angle is consistent with 70s Norlin Gibsons, too. They're pretty spot on repros.

A have a 'cheaper' Greco Rock Spirits LP. It came standard with a solid 2 piece mahogany back, 1 piece mahogany set neck, long tenon, bone nut, braided 50's wiring, ABR (no studs) bridge, nickel HW, paper in oil caps, very nice rosewood board and two perfectly useable pickups by Maxon. In my opinion, these specs are not particularly 'entry level', certainly not nowadays. And it holds tuning much better than my Gibson LP standard. So, I can see why you are excited about this LP. They are a great value.

How do you feel this compares to a Gibson lp? I have a Gibson traditional and classic lp but I've always sought after one of the orville/greco/burny builds. Awesome content!

I justo got an EG800 from 1981... I didn't expect it to sound SO DIFFERENT from other LPs. I have a Gibson LPJ from 2013 with two gibson 57's, and I can't even compare them. The greco sounds and plays absurdly better, and they cost almost the same

Looks excellently built! I wish there was more info on the pickups.

According to the spec sheet at that time U-2000 should be installed in his guitar. (It is made by Maxon who developed the original Tube Screamer TS-808.) It is a model that reproduced the structure of Gibson numbered PAF in the mid 1970's. psyco.jp/greco/cata.html japtone.com/en/chapter-i-greco-guitars-pickups-2/

$550 shipped? In 2022/23 they've doubled in price including the shipping. Then again Live in Canada and our exchange rate is shit.

Probably have to look far and wide to find a Gibson with that quality

Bruh these guitars are like at least a 1400 bucks these days lol. Not possible to get any of these old MIJ guitars cheap anymore from what i've seen.

I made this video in 2018, they were much cheaper then.
