Xenon isn't overwhelming the SMS, it's just poorly coded.

@@Lucasrainford Mark Coleman's graphical art was absolutely amazing and it holds up even when converted from the Amiga original; and Bomb the Base's "Megablast" track is still a thumper. Unfortunately, whoever ported it for Virgin Games botched the game engine pretty badly, the framerate crawls even when there aren't many enemies on screen. The Mega Drive port is utter shambles as well, and it had plenty of power under the hood to handle more intense graphics than what Xenon 2 brought to the table. With a good Master System emulator, you can bump the speed up by 25-50% and get an excellent framerate for faster, smoother gameplay. That's how I tend to play it.

@@ostiariusalpha I originally played it on Amiga and was blown away with the graphics, I recently found out it was a Atari ST port so even more impressive. I use emulators for everything, Bizhawk in this instance, I’ll check out the speed up feature, cheers 👍🏻

Some fantastic games there, not all ive played though. R-Type had to be there. Forget Xenon 2 was on the Master System. One of my friends back in the day had it on his Master System II. Is this a different Emulator or are they all combined into it? Great editing to the video, like the Film transitions.

Hey! Yeah I know it's slow, I mention it in the info, it's just I was blown away by the actual graphics, they look awesome for a 8-Bit, until they move! This isn't a definite 'best' list, just 15 shooters I tried for the first time and liked, I'd already seen Fantasy Zone loads so thought I'd try the sequel, which was great imo. Thanks for watching :)
