Lucchese crayton long term review 🐐

Great review! I have a pair of these in black, with a 7 toe and a 4(cowboy) heel. I love em. You can dress them up or down and right out of the box, they're some of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. They were 100% broken in after 2 wears. They feel light when they're on they don't make my feet sweat. Living in South Florida, that is a definite plus. I wear them as often as it's practically feasible.

Yes they are really Awsome and I definitely the most comfortable snip toes I’ve ever wore. I live in south Florida too so I know exactly what you mean they really do not sweat.

I love the elegant Form, a little Bit italian. Very happy with my tan craytons! Absolutely no issues since 3 Years of wearing them

Yeah they do kind of have an Italian style to them with the snip toe. They are not my style but they are a great boot.

Update: Well I finally got a pair of Crayton tan mad dog goats with the #5 snip toe about 9 months ago, and they are a fantastic pair of boots as you mention in the various points. I will say, of all my Lucchese's, these are my best fitting pair & my favorite! 👍

That is awesome. I’m glad you got your boots that you’ve on it for a while I have kept the tan ones and will be putting the gray ones up for sale as snipped. Oh it’s not my personal favorite toe shape but I like these and I will keep that as my only pair of Lucchese.

I have four pair of Lucchese ‘s, but the mad dog goat version is the only one that’s made in Mexico, and I agree with you, It’s very narrow at shaft, very difficult to get on and off but once my foot is inside they’re very comfortable.

Very nice review of those 2 craytons! I've never had a pair of them, but I've had the Lewis goat which is basically the same boot & I liked them alot. I've had 2 pair of the barts in #5 snip toe and exactly as you mentioned, they go on tough, but once you get into them, they are super comfortable. 👍

What’s the difference between the craytons and the Lewis?

@@notmychairnotmyproblem1544 The Lewis are made in Mexico & the Craytons are made in the USA. Depending on what Lewis boot you talking about, some have mad dog goat & some are made with Madras goat. The Crayton"s are made with Mad dog goat & Madras goat, pending on which you choose to get. The lewis are nice boots, I've had them. Some say they run a little snugger.

Great video as always. I have been eyeing these mad dog goats, will probably be my next pair. I think the lack of pegs and nails is due to the welt style on those boots. Pegs and nails are found on 3/4 welt boots but those boots (and my own Luccheses) have a full 360 degree welt. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks so much for putting out amazing content.

Yes that could very well be but I do think if you go to your cobbler lemon wood pegs could be added or at the next resole witch I would definitely do on these boots.

I have the pecan color ones you have in the video. I love the look of this boot thats obviously why i bought them lol. But like you said the scratches add character. I personally beat my boots up on purpose so they do look worn. To me that's what they're for. Plus i aint going anywhere fancy lol

One of my uncles he wore that toe style- he called roach crunchers lol. With Lucchase I have been thinking about the Tanner; it’s a roper group and made with mad dog goat.

Excellent video and you bring up a lot of good points. Now I dont have the same model but I got a pair on Luccheses website that they were liquidating for just under $300! Goat skin is beautiful! Super soft and supple, wears nice and is pretty tough but it shines up really nice! Thanks for another one of your videos! I might have to check some of those snip toes out

Fenoglio Nile crocs all day. You are getting a a very well built boot made in Texas with a better hide at probably similar cost. Lucchese is well overpriced for what you are getting and they are not worth it when Fenoglio is building the same or better quality at such a better price.

These are beautiful boots… love the snips. Are Luccheses typically more narrow in the shaft? I’m a tall, thinner guy and hate when the shafts are too noticeable through jeans. Great job, L!

It is my pleasure thank you. Lucchese is more of a upscale brand of cowboy boots so there shafts are going to be narrower then Ariat’s or other work boots.

I just bought a 900 dollar pair of elgins from lucchese and they don’t have any pegs either. I was surprised by that but it’s still a beautiful boot

I am thinking of purchasing some Lucchese Cratons myself. However I am a smaller guy with vary narrow feet. I am a US size 6 which is my ideal size. however most shops don't stock that in the UK. I am not sure of my width though. Probably either a B or possibly a D. if anyone could let me know the best way to check that, i'd be appreciated. I do like the sound of the cratons though. They are more expensive than I would like, however I do realise the hand crafted part. and for a mid range boot the price is understandable. I often have to wear women's trainers or shoes because of the width issue. Do people think a size D would be to big for my feet? Thank you very much sir. My recommendation would be to contact the folks over at Fenoglio boot company and explain your foot size to them and they definitely have all the last so if you need a 6B they have made women boots that size so they could grab the last and make it with whatever leather and heel you want and design so they are truly awsome. @@BlindTimeLord no sir they are 2 different boot makers Lucchese is in Elpaso, Texas, and Fenoglio is in Nacona Texas but Fenoglio prices are way better for what they give you and they can custom make your boots and your size
