No one sings this better then Pararotti. My only regret is he turned from the mic to sing to the group behind him which muffled his incredible voice (in this performance.) Obviously, there are other performances of him singing this song, but I admit to loving this "version" due to the way the pianist accompanies him. Does anyone know his name? TIA!

I love that he turned and sang to the audience behind him, but he should have shifted to the other side of the microphone when he did it.

NO need he was showing how his voice projected without microphones, he could filll the whole opera house with just his voice the training the operatic training, and no one trains to the extent he did these days. 7 years!!!!

Thank you so much for posting an answer to my query. I appreciate the information. By the by, I don't believe I know the name Verreau, but I will definitely look for him here on You tube. Thanks once again. Cheers!

I remember exactly where I was when I'd heard he'd died. I felt a part of me died with him, stranger though he was.

I had that feeling quite recently this year. I was just a child when he passed away and didn’t really realise it. Now at 25 I mourn the loss and miss the man like crazy. I’ve never cried for a celebrity before but when it hit me that he’s gone (I had listened him a few weeks and fell kind of in love - and was just watching his Caruso) I honestly literally fell apart. I cried so much. It hurt, and still does. May he rest in peace. I’m praying I see him at least in a dream some day. I miss him so.

@@flav2689 I think it was because he touched us all so deeply with his beautiful voice. When someone's affected us with their beauty or talent, we feel like we know them, even though we never met them. I've heard other tenors who are equally talented, but with him there was something "je ne sais quoi". Know what I mean?
@flav26893 жыл бұрын
@@CathyKitson That makes sense. Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Same here, when I hear other tenors. Just something is missing.
