I had recurring nightmares as a kid where my mom turned into a monster and started chasing me. I always ran out of the house and ran until I ended up in a strange neighborhood. My nightmares stopped when I went away to college, where my abusive mother was no longer a threat. Crazy!

I've been lucid dreaming since I was a kid and usually situations are so extreme is what makes me realize I can somewhat take control of the dream. I don't really have nightmares. I will fight monsters and such but it is more like living out an action movie. Never really scared.

I've had the same experience as you did. It started out as Night Terrors as a young kid to Lucid Dreaming once I hit my teenage years. I discovered comic books when I hit age 14 and started to apply those skills in the waking dreams. I've gone far enough to start dreaming religious stuff. It started out very dark, cause of Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Unlike your dreams my Lucid Nightmares were very detailed and eerie scary. But the skills I've learned always helped

I can actually anecdotally confirm, that learning lucid dreaming helped me with nightmares. I had a traumatic experience as a child, where I thought WW3 was happening, From then on I started having nightmares often. Not only about war but other scary things. Since my brother told me about lucid dreaming, I looked up information on how to do it and was able to teach myself (it's not easy, took me many months until I had the first lucid dream) but at some point I was able to reverse the the dream and from then on, every time I had a bad dream, this would trigger my lucid state. With more training, I learned to react to different triggers. Interestingly, this ended, when I became so good at triggering the lucid state, that while dreaming I thought I was awake. So I kind of lost the ability to lucid dream, but the nightmare triggers were still in place and still I could enjoy my dreams. Nowadays I love sleeping and dreaming even though I stopped persuing the lucid state, because the security of knowledge, that if a dream spirals out of control, I can always stop it, gives me a positive outlook on dreaming. So while this is purely anecdotal, I still think, that it might work for other people, too. Having said that, I would still warn people of abusing lucid dreaming. In my experience, the blurring of the lines between dream and awake states can have some detrimental effects. Just don't overdo it and know, that they are still dreams. Nothing magical about them.

I rarely have nightmares anymore, but my dream life is absolutely fantastic. It's one of my favorite things. There are many places that I frequently visit. And lucid dreams are by far the best because it's hard to tell if it's real or a dream.

After my second jab I started having dreams that were so real that I remembered them as real for many many weeks. Example - When a local political made a major announcement I would wait for it's implantation and when there were no announcements I would search the internet deeply, newspapers and all. It took a while to figure this out it did.

I was always fascinated with my dreams, they were quite vivid and wonderful. Learned how to have lucid dreams. Now with PTSD I regret it since I don't know how to unlearn it. Having vivid dreams is really exhausting and I am happy about every night after which I don't remember my dream. Antidepressants made it really really bad to the point where I had to stop taking them. I don't want to dream anymore, would be great to have an off switch.

Lucid dreaming is a skill acquired over time it is not easy, and unless in question is a nightmare, just let a dream be a dream as it’s pointless trying to control it. Btw she is terrific ❤ Her energy and knowledge just superb.😊 Thank you for sharing Dr Huberman

Had a recent Lucid Dream(s). One part was where i was walking with someone i fond of. We walked along the snowy parts of the town. School, street, up a small hill. 2nd part was that what looked like the Grand Canyon but different. The sandstone colors were of orange, beige, egg white, then it repeated the same color bands. But it was one long Mountain and as high as a thousand feet. Below were 2 cities. Crest of the long mountain had long spikes of sandstones which i found odd. So i flew towards the peak to observe. It was very windy. The mountain was holding something back. My sight wouldn't let me view what was on the other side of the mountain. Looking at the 2 cities, it really looked like i was that high. Then flew back down. Rather my flying is like that of a jet. I don't glide. 3rd moment was that of a subway station near a coastal beach. The tides were very high. Alot of the water started to overflow the subway system. Again there was a hill of rocks preventing me from looking over to where all the water was coming from

I always naturally had vivid and lucid dreams (not the same thing), I remember a lot of my dreams and I start seeing them while still awake in the evening hours, not yet in bed. I also often suddenly recall past dreams, like you would something from your childhood. I know that those from dreams and normally can tell which is older and which is more recent. So for me there are 2 lives, the real one and the dream one, and I would not like to lose my dream one and forget it all together even if there is no full continuity like in real life.

I have had this too for years, I randomly remember old dreams from out of nowhere. It’s really bizarre. I have never heard anyone speak of this. What do you think is happening when it happens? Have you found any info on this?

It’s interesting that she mentioned to use “sound” as a healing therapeutic method to overcome nightmares. It’s amazing how our senses are all tied into this. I wonder if she means sound in terms of senses or sound waves?

For some reason, I thought I would revisit this video and I’m glad I did because ever since I started taking a “Sleep Aid” supplement from Dr. Berg, I don’t remember dreaming anymore. I prefer it that way. Less stress to think about. I’m glad that Doctor Poe said that it’s a good thing to not need to lucid dream and stress out the body. Also, Dr. Berg has videos about the autonomic nervous system and how that affects our sleep cycles so, I don’t think I would want a really active sleep cycle. I’d rather do most of my meditation or deep thinking during the day and maybe right before I sleep to sum up the day but once I get to sleep, I’d rather stay asleep and not interrupt the growth hormone process or autophagy.

Been diagnosed with REM Sleep Disorder. I physically act out my dreams - yelling, flailing, kicking. Some mornings I wake up bloody having punched myself, kicked a wall, or falling out of bed. Neurologist says it could be a precursor to Parkinson’s.

Everyone should learn how to lucid dream. Not only can it help with nightmares but everyday life as well. Plus it's some of the most fun you'll ever have and it often feels like real life. You can literally be in your favorite movies and shows and even change the outcomes or create your own world

@IceColdProfessional Dream stabilization. It can only last so long though as you're going to wake up either way. Some good ways to stabilize a dream is to engage with senses like touch, starting to feel everything around you. It is possible for dreams to feel much longer or shorter than they are however due to time dilation

I lucid dream every night, I have the choice to alter the path of dreams or just let them happen as they are. I mainly have nightmares where I'm hunted by monsters in a dystopian apocalyptic world. Or I hunt these grotesque beings. The regular dreams are about my ex mainly. And I find the good dreams are the worst as I wake up and she's still gone...

lucid dreaming is a way to unlock the subconscious mind

I lucid dream without trying in any way. Most are lucid nightmares, whereas I can knowingly control all aspects. There are times I may have lucid episodes for several mights in a row, pick up right off where I left off the previous "dream" (nightmare) and carry on. For the majority of the time it's actually a horrible thing to deal with. I'm often the antagonist in this state. In these dreams I'm able to see colors not visible in my awake state. Many times I am in COMPLETE control, even to the point of asking myself, "Should I wake up or continue on to see/do whatever it is I want." I've tested for my better understanding making such decisions many, many time. I can make the "conscious" (and quite logically) decision to do both either, at will. This "lucid semi-consciousness" comes with a large cost. I do not recommend TRYING to achieve lucid dreaming for everyone. Be careful for what you ask for...

Dreams are actually kind of a solution to the problems one is facing in real life. But they are like metaphors, the meaning is never literal, one has to "decode" their dreams in order to figure out what subconscious is trying to say.

Ugh 🤦‍♀️ not working with binaural beats, the nightmares from life trauma kicks really hard and now I’m too shaky for 2 weeks, I kept doing it cuz I heard you need to confront to heal ( no I have no fiction monsters, these are real past life experiences) that I have accepted and even forgave in real life. But I will have to quit is not from every one

Do we receive our identity, or do we create it? Is our identity imparted to us, or are we to evolve to choose, change, and create our identity? Are we the Creator, or is God? How much of our own design and planning went into our birth and nurture? Suppose we reject the potential that we receive our identity. Would we not fight to the death to create our own identity in defiance of the only One who could have the power to define and impart identity? If we are not the Creator, but we reject the Creator, will we not strive to create laws and an identity that defy the Creator? Mat.19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female… If we believe that who I am is whatever I define myself as, then I supposedly become whatever I tell you I am. If I believe that I am not able to be defined, then you cannot define me in any way without disagreeing with me. If I believe that I am a 3 year old unicorn with pink hair, you would not be able to say that I am not a 3 year old unicorn with pink hair without disagreeing with me. If we make enforced laws that allow me to define who I am, then law cannot define me as a criminal even if I commit a video-recorded crime. If I say that I am your best friend then you have to agree with me even if I constantly betray you. Without a standard by which we define subjective reality, objective reality will become lawless to the degree of the erosion of subjective laws and definitions. So dreams are real and one may be fully conscious in them; It happened to me. This does not make us special; were are still a mortal creature, subject to our immortal Creator. Repent. The church murders Jesus, and this is the opposite of an excuse to excuse sin for ourselves; the blood of Jesus is the mercy we are all breathing and covered in.
