My biggest conflict with social media is that personally I've loved the distance that I set with it (read and applied most principles in Digital Minimalism about a year ago), but its made it really difficult on my work as a filmmaker, especially wedding filmmaker - most of my engagement and work is based off Instagram at the current moment. How do I leverage Instagram without it being a consistent distraction like it's been for the last year that I've used it? I sometimes even look at my potential future and wonder if this is actually a viable career in light of all the distractions over the internet and social media I've seen since I began to be much more cautious with my screen time.

But its hard for todays youths. The first impression comes from how well their Instagram is setup. The travel pictures and food pictures makes a person cooler and people judge and decide whether you should be given priority or not. Its scary, because I have seen people with bad heart acting well and good on Instagram but in reality they are just horrible.

I do 5 miles 5 days a week walking as fast as I can and get maybe 12 to 15 minutes of low zone 2 - am I wasting my time? Jogging isn’t an option because of my back.

The Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) studied the dietary intake of 135335 individuals in 18 countries and concluded that high carbohydrate intake was associated with higher risk of total mortality, whereas total fat and individual types of fat were related to lower total mortality. Total fat and types of fat were not associated with cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, or cardiovascular disease mortality, whereas higher saturated fat intake was associated with lower risk of stroke. (Lancet 2017). Dr Attia should read a little more before make recomendations.

that study doesn't take into account type of carbohydrate. Others do, and its clear complex carbs promote health. The follow up on this study was 7 years. Other studies with longer follow up periods show saturated fat is a risk factor for heart health. Just like the more controlled randomized and Mendelian trials show.

Is there a specific reason why Andrew is sitting on the right and Goggins is sitting on the left? I'm asking this because I've observed in most podcasts that the one that asks questions usually sits on the left. Either this is a useless observation or I'm guessing that there's a scientific reason behind this.

I’ve always been an advocate but now I’m lost. I have too addictive of a personality and then use it too much and get dependent. I’m now starting to think I’ll be better with out it. The hard part is it’s over whelming I’ve been able to quit for periods of time but haven’t been able to quit for ever, and that part is what makes me want to stop. I don’t like it has control over me.

If you want your child to succeed in life, it helps to have their trust. You achieve trust when your actions align with your values, consistently over time. Don’t think that editing in a few choice phrases will do your work for you.

I’ve found that hyper specific feedback and praise based off behaviors is not only an amazing motivator, but an amazing opportunity fo development. People listen with intent while receiving praise. Not only are they extremely open to your praise, but you can describe the principles behind their high value actions and why those principles are working on their behalf. They are like giant sponges that soak everything up. And they’re maximally motivated to implement what they learned.

I work in a really hard job working in addictions helping people recover from drug and alcohol issues and my day can be filled with people in trauma and some really difficult challenging situations. the first thing I do is I always park my car about 500 m from work so this involves a walk that short walk which is only five minutes. Maybe it basically clears my head. Just motion of walking feeling 1 foot in front of the other engages, a different part of the brain. I do something interesting when I get to my car. I take my shoes off and put a different pair of shoes on. This is the starting point to getting out of work mode those feet carried the energy. After that I make a choice of what my body and mine feels like and I have a variety of strategies none of them include alcohol. I either go into nature and take photos? I'm also a professional photographer now... I might go to the gym. I might go and see my partner. I might combine all three of those in one thing but I try and do something different to keep it interesting. Don't resort to the same coping strategy..

Im 22 and i stopped using my social media accounts and deleted all those apps from my phone more than a yr ago and i feel much more confident about who I'm in reality not on social media. Those who've done this will definitely understand this feeling of serenity and the calmness we get from being with us rather than those strangers on the social media. And yeahh there were times when i wanted to checkout my ig (maybe not mine but others) and believe me everytime i opened it in the last yrs i learnt how it makes us want to do things that we don't even want to deep inside us,and the feeling after scrolling all over is not even comparable to the happiness i get from deleting it. And those who r saying commenting on youtube is also a part of social media, yeahh it is ,but not for those who quit social media. For me its a media through which i get to know this world better and how i can bcm better as well

I got a question on shift workers. I work 7pm to 7 am. There isn’t an opportunity to go to day shift 7am to 7pm unless I quit move and get lucky. My sleep during work is like 5 hours. Days off it’s mixed. I work out 3 days a week with 5k runs mixed in on the remaining days off. My jobs stressful and my love life has fallen off a cliff. I can’t seem to maintain weight unless I’m at 1500 calories a day. For shift workers. Who can’t financially leave night shift. Should we look into TRT more or are there alternatives before attempting TRT.

Love this video and advice. I'm 79 yo and try to ride Z2 on a stationary bike. When I ride outside, I pretty much Z3, but it does not feel very hard and I have time in Z2 and Z4. Z5 has not been experienced very much. So the question is can I add up the Z2's for my weakly (yes, weakly within a week) to see how many minutes to meet the 15 minutes lower goal. Thanks ever so much. So I'm not much of cyclist, say 1000 miles per year, mix of MTB, Grvl and road.Seated resting pulse is 50 bpm. Cheers!

If I'm sick, I do take it seriously, then I usually leave it to fate (like the rest), and I try not to worry about it too much... And I certainly DON'T "ever" speak of it or like toadvertize it too much. Usually my immediate family only would know unless I need to be left alone, I prefer not to say and skip the part where I get to know other people's reaction to it or simply. My life in my hands, then in God's hands only. The thing is my doctor doesn't seem to be in a hurry or worry very much about giving me the results... The symptoms seem to be the same whether it's too low or too high, and I've had muscle pain only one morning since the prescrion drug seemed to be out of my system and organs. The "only available in subscription" supplement he gave me only acted somewhat well for two weeks (that I've noticed), and then took them roughly one more week before having very bad side effects for about roughly 10 days after stopping it, so I basically NEED the damn results which my doctor doesn't seems to want to give me!!!

Did the "I would cuddle with you...huggy bear 🐻" actually hit a wrong note or what? I've just lost the most of precious time watching the most annoying (even that word is polite and doesn't do it justice) podcast episode of the obnoxious Scott Carney I think I've ever seen of him until now. I can't understand how this is even called work? I think the guy figures he's the whole justice system. He plays a video of another podcast and pose it every 2-3 seconds deciphering it, making an opinion at EVERY F***ING interruptions of it. You have the feeling that everything has been going so fast in front of your eyes that you can't follow ANY POINTS he makes, or more so attempts to make, and end up just alienating this piece that he's doing because (I know I did) that video was manipulative and you basically haven't learn much of a damn think from it. I thought he WAS traumatized before, but he IS also very antagonistic and he definitely has vindictiveness in his blood enough to appear he represent justice while he CANNOT be objective the more he goes on!!! You just can't seem to level with him! Althought it's long I "WILL" watch the original podcast episode, not tonight, but I don't NEED anyone's so called insight to do so and draw MY own conclusions. I'm known to be a living lie detector plus I read people easily, and I'm gonna be VERY arrogant by saying so but I'm good "at what I do," and I don't need to be influenced, valued or accepted by anyone to do so...

Great to hear you both speak on this in such articulate detail - the hardest part for me is being in this place and seeing outside of it, the deconstruct what is actually happening enough to solve it - then having enough bandwidth remaining to execute the solution - Interestingly this last few weeks, I took time out, while still delivering operational priorities, to solve my personal problem, and I did, only to find my boss was unhappy and didn't understand why I took the time out to solve it - he himself couldn't see it clearly enough to understand why it was needed
