It's because of people like you guys that i decided to finaly get started with my dream. I'm not there yet, but just this summer alone. I went from the guy that used to watch wingsuit/BASE videos thinking "one day", to the guy that has a B licence and a little over 60 skydives and just ordered my Phantom 3, to keep me motivated and focused on my dream! But until then, what i mostly need is guys like you putting videos on youtube. You're my biggest motivator! Thanks guys keep them videos coming!!

Wow, that's great Studiooneuk--thanks! This is a tough decision to answer in short, but when you compare BASE Jumping to Skydiving, one of the distinct differences is that we only have one paracute when BASE jumping (a reserve). Considering this, we take packing and rigging very seriously to be sure we don't need a plan B, so everything we do is very calculated. Unfortunately, it isn't fool-proof, there are some situations where we have to improvise. Hope this answers your question :).

PURE FREEDOM. Well, I'm enjoying watching flying people so much, I too decided to finally make first step - go tandem to establish if I have enough guts to step out of the plane into nothing. And then we'll see how it goes..AFF training or I will switch back to watching adorable animals lol
@LukeHively12 жыл бұрын
Areyn, thank you! You don't need to live near cliffs, you can travel to them :). But I do suggest you begin with skydiving. Think of skydiving as the safer place to learn to fly--BASE is game time and you have to be ready for the unexpected things that WILL happen, but your preparedness is what would save you from being hurt or killed. It's an amazing feeling, the most incredible experiences I've ever had have been in these two sports, so if you have a desire, look into it!
@LukeHively12 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the exit point we're jumping from. I've jumped in some places that took several hours to hike, but some you can take a train, cable car, helicopter, car, etc., followed by a short hike... Helicopters are always a treat ;).
@LukeHively12 жыл бұрын
Also, when we skydive, most people use a device called a Cypres that automatically opens your reserve parachute at a certain altitude if you're knocked out or unable to open a parachute. We do not use them when BASE jumping though.

Great question--I haven't heard of a specific instance in wingsuit BASE jumping, but it is absolutely a risk. In the very least it could hurt, a LOT, but could definitely knock you out or worse at those speeds. I saw a bird cruise past me on a skydive once, but it was while I was under my parachute, so the speed was considerably slower!
@fitznig12 жыл бұрын
Music was good in my opinion, especially the last song, it captures the sensation of flying wing suit set against the lovely landscapes if you can break apart the experience in slow motion like in the montage. It is hard to explain MrRaven, but you will just have to get out there and experience it. Rock Music and Metal, while completely awesome in there in own right, it doesn't convey the Godly sensation of human flight.
