It’s disappointing to read all the haters on here. As an actual Lucid owner, I have 100% confidence in their long term plan. I’ve driven 25k miles in 1.5 years won many road trips, breezing past chargers others would be forced to stop at because of the range. Their service people are the best of the best, and having learned from people who engineered this vehicle, the advances in space optimization and drivetrain technology are next level and ahead of all other automakers. Aston Martin could have chosen anyone to make their EV motors, so how does that make Lucid the Titanic as one poster said on here? Progress happens in steps, not all at once and it takes time and massive investment, and it’s very short sighted and lacks vision to fixate on a stock price for a company in an expansion phase.

It’s not going to matter if the PIF makes the company private. That’s why you have a lot of people hating on lucid especially Peter most of the hate comes from share holders! Peter sold about 300million dollars in shares when the company was on a down slope also! With no updates to the share holders. He didn’t meet year expectations on top of it. He hasn’t invested a dollar back into the company! That’s why a lot of people including myself are mad at Peter and lucid! The tech is great, that’s why we invested in it. But the tech won’t matter for shareholders holders if the PIF goes private. Almost feels intentional

Price seems to high to be a mass market product. Glad he asked about them losing money per each vehicle and also not selling as many as they make. Hope it turns around but the biz side doesnt look good to me, despite really liking the cars, i'm wary about their future

Thank you for bringing us the interview with Peter Rollinson. It’s easy to say ‘NAY’ endlessly and a darn difficult to build a path to success, esp in the automotive sector. Glad to see Lucid moving for the long-haul. The sooner the Gravity and then ‘mid-size’ comes the better. The big Q: will the price be low enough for the time and expectations of customers. Time will tell.

@@grizzlymartin1 You are missing nothing at all. My target stock price for Lucid when the stock launched to even consider investing was $2.50 a share, and we are close now. Even still, EVs are going to be a few winners taking most of the market situation. Best case scenario for Lucid is to carve out a decent little niche somehow that allows them to charge significantly more than Tesla and BYD charge, because Lucid will never be able to compete on price. At high risk of complete failure, Lucid will burn many billions of dollars over many years, and then if they do everything very well they will become a going concern able to eek out a small profit every year, unless the economy has a significant downturn.

Lucid bringing Cory from Munro into their team gives me some hope. I felt the distraction of building a factory in Saudi Arabia was a pure power move on the part of the Saudi investors. Not truly in the best interest of Lucid, but since SA has a big chunk of Lucid, hard to say no. The positive of SA money is they likely were a key part to bring Aston Martin and Lucid together since SA is the second largest stake holder in Aston Martin. Hearing their "affordable" Lucid model is years away is probably realistic, but will mean the competition will be very tough by the time they get into that segment of the market. I believe the more companies fighting to win over consumers the better it is for the consumer. Going from a niche company to a high volume large builder will be a monster sized challenge.

It is mindblowing how much money they dare to invest, with these sales numbers. Let's say they sell the same amount of Gravity's/ Air's as model X did last year in the US, around 20.000 > selling $1.6B > With a profit margin of 20% = $320 million profit. Compare that to their annual cash burn of 2/3 billion. Even if the sales double or triple, I will not see this company being profitable before the end of this decade.

It appears that the Lucid Air is as luxurious, on the inside as any top brand competitor. Why could they not sell that luxury car with an ICE engine, maybe under a different name, to enable car enthusiasts to enjoy the car but at a lower price, while they continue to get their EV dominoes, in place.

Tommy Molo's a serious journo with a well earned reputation in the EV Sector, so he can't risk "sullying" his good name by asking unserious questions in the company of an AUTHENTIC ENGINEER like Rawlinson and other Professionals. like what do you want, for the man to be "Black Listed" by the entire Auto Industry...? unfortunately for better or worse, Solid State Batteries rank DOWN there with using Hydrogen as a fuel type, Cold Fusion, and Super Conductivity at room temps.

As a current EV owner, would I consider a Lucid as a next EV purchase? Possibly, but I want a vehicle with some space/carrying capability and the Air has a small truck opening. If Lucid does come out with a mid-sized "SUV", and can still provide the longest range in the market, it would get significant consideration. Real life 400+ miles in that form factor would be impressive.

I own a 2023 Lucid Air Touring. Without hesitation I can say that it is the most enjoyable car I've had the pleasure of driving. Okay, it's actually my wife's car. But she lets me drive it. I drive a 2016 GMC Canyon pickup, and I let her drive that when she wants. When it's time to sell my GMC Canyon I will replace it with an EV pickup, no doubt. At this point the Rivian R1T is my choice. Maybe Lucid will have a pickup in the works one day? Oh, I hope so. And no, I won't even consider driving that other company's ugly refrigerator. No way.

Aston Martin is practically a part of Mercedes Benz group. The latter is running on lots of investment money from Arabic peninsula. The same is to be said about Lucid. At this point, for investors from the same geographic area it made sense to suggest cooperation between ultra luxury brands Aston Martin and Lucid in order to trickle technology to Mercedes Benz later. A 50k USD Lucid SUV can potentially massively increase production in Lucid branded EVs. That definitely makes all the ducks walk in a row for Lucid motors. Providing the considerable depths of above mentioned pockets, Lucid will achieve its growth goals.

Tucson also implemented water conservation efforts starting in 1975 and we now use half as much water per resident as Scottsdale uses. Casa Grande and Phoenix Metro cannot say the same, and they get a lot less rainwater than Tucson. They will be fine as long as it keep raining in California, but if California needs more water, they have first dibs on everything Phoenix gets from the Colorado River.

@@Resist4- big range is big weight and especially cost. If the real world DC charger spacing gets reduced to 25-50 miles between chargers, as is with gas stations presently, then a range which exceeds 250 miles isn’t necessary. Interesting that aero of a Lucid is a top consideration, since that helps to reduce weight and cost - very important characteristics when designing a luxury EV.
