For anyone else who got confused: Benjamin: In Benjamins reality, the "real world" for him, he is a second grader. He fell asleep in math class and has since lived a life inside his dreamscape, marrying Isabelle, having a daughter. It could also be that that entire Isabelle life was a very short dream, and his previous memories were only dreams as well. Benjamin purely believed that his married to Isabelle reality was real, only it was just a dream. This dreamscape is also where the Jasper storyline takes place. At some point in Benjamins dream he and Isabelle have a divorce, which is why he joins the Jasper cult in the first place. At the end of the day, his true reality is as a second grader. Oliver: In Oliver's reality we know that he and his brother got in a car accident which gives him the idea of a controlled reality. He experiments by attempting to wake people up in a whole foods. Oliver's reality is, in fact, the Jasper universe, otherwise Benjamin's dreamscape. Which is why he's able to wake up Benjamin and bring him back to reality. But as Benjamin wakes, Oliver sleeps. Or enters his dreamscape. Because as we see in the series, the second grade universe is Oliver's dreamscape. Benjamin's reality is as a second grader who dreamt up the Jasper universe. Oliver's reality is in the Jasper universe where he dreamt up being in second grade. This is the paradox Mrs. Hills describes in this episode, the fact that they exist within each other's dreamscapes and realities. Idk I just wanted to get this explanation off my chest because it took awhile to get it for me, hope this helps anyone else.

@colebrenan92903 жыл бұрын
I believe the basis of the ending is the phrase Mrs. Hills used; "... In every universe, every dreamscape, all of time and space already exist". So my understanding is that Oliver and Ben went to school together (in someone's dreamscape most likely). While they were in second grade together, Ben fell asleep thinking about Oliver. Then in another point in the "future", Oliver ran into Ben in a whole foods, likely quite literally as he is seen sprawled on the floor with food around him. When he was probably knocked out, he was thinking about Ben. Now since time exists all at once, since they each fell asleep thinking about each other, no matter if it was at the same point or not, they each created a brand new dreamscape where the other is there as well. Since they both had the ability of a Lucid in them, and created a new version of the other whilst still in the same dreamscape originally, they pulled each other into the new dreamscape. In this new one, they are both the dreamer yet also the dreamt, creating some sort of paradox. In the second dreamscape, they were only there long enough for Ben to be seen shopping for apples in a whole foods (What Oliver last saw him doing), and for Oliver to run up talking about second grade (Things taken from where Ben was last). That's why when they both return to the second dreamscape where their realities were remade in a sense, all there is is that short scene of them interacting in a wholefoods. Think I covered everything... I found this just hours ago and binged it all, it is very late for me.

Nicholas. I started this series completely unaware, and entirely by chance. I can honestly tell you, it was among the greatest things I've ever seen, and even read. The amount of love and time you put into this is astonishing...and your immense raw talent should be a source of pride and happiness for you and all adjacent to you. You've truly reached a side of so many people that most keep dormant in day-to-day life. Anything that can evoke the feelings you did in everyone here deserves the highest amount of praise. And you did it yourself, almost entirely, without a fancy cast, budget, or set. You've inspired me. And anyone here who ever felt as though they couldn't possibly reach others because they were too limited somehow should be inspired too. This short series alone has brought me more perspective and enjoyment than hours and hours of shows and movies have. This may be a lot to put on you, a person who I've never personally met, but...you have truly changed the course of my life. I aspire to reach your level, and do the absolute best with what I have, because I know I can still reach people, even with methods I thought to be too lackluster. You've shown me: If it's enough, it will be enough, no matter how much there is. If that makes sense. So...thank you, for being not only *my* inspiration...but an important and inspiring figure in *at least* 28 thousand peoples' lives. You've made a difference.

I love Ms Hills. She's my favorite character due to just how mature she's taking the entire "I'm no longer in control of my life" bit. She doesn't force Oliver nor Benjamin to remain cause she knows its pointless and trying to be angry or panicked about it all is pointless cause it would change nothing. She's letting them choose what to do. She's only showing the possibilities and the cons.

I watched this during lockdown and it was such a comfort show for me, watching it back again has the same effect all over (except I don’t believe I ever got to the end the first time). Whatever the case may be haha, I felt transported back in time rewatching this and the experience was the same, utter confusion at this absurd and absolute genius mind you have. You truly are a creative mind, so before I ramble on any further, I just wanted to say that I aspire to come up with ideas than inspired me as much as you singlehandedly did (your music is also extraordinary omg is there anything you can’t create)

I said this a year ago and I’ll say it again. After watching all of this again I am still in awe at how creative and beautiful this whole universe is and every part of it was done by a single brilliant man. Nicholas Podany you are my hero, this series got me through covid and now it is my most favorite thing on the internet. 🤣

Bruh this series was amazing. I ended up stumbling upon the first episode mostly by accident, and although I was confused throughout I still felt really attached to the characters. I nearly cried when Oliver's brother woke up. Amazing word, dude, fr

i only found this cause I liked the sound of “do you blame yourself” so I wanted to see where the original came from. I didn’t intend to stay for the series yet I was completely intrigued with the prequel. So, I stayed. Best decision of my life.

Omg Oliver uses robin as a fake name early on and it links into the quote at the end. Such good planning on your point
