Regarding the adoption questions. There are websites and organizations one can register with as a parent who gave up a child or the adoptee who is curious, to say you are willing to connect. Here in Canada they made info available once you turn 18, but when the law changed they also gave the parent the ability to close all but basic info & to leave a message for the child they gave up. If they choose to block the file the child has to swear in front of a legal official to never contact them or their family ever, or a huge fine & possibly jail, but they can also say they are willing to connect. :) Of course if an abandoned issue like this, there are not government or legal ways to track, so sending an anonymous note or registering to an agency would be only wats to tell her she is open to contact. Then there is poor Maiz which is a different thing altogether; abandoned with hundreds of thousands of others by their mother.

The way I see it, an adopted child who knows they are adopted ALWAYS has the option to find their birth parents. It is THEIR choice to search for their biological family when THEY want to. The biological parents, as Linda rightly said, don't have the right to enter that child's life without their permission because it could have horrible consequences if the child isn't ready to accept that part of their story. I get what you two were trying to say when you mentioned Linda not giving Adrianna the option but, given that she already knows that she is adopted, the option was already on the table. She's an adult and she knows that she can look if she wanted to. The fact that she didn't proves that she wasn't ready to and nobody, not even Linda, has any right to take that choice out of her hands.
